Paige And Del Rio Blame Internet For Airport Drama

WWE Superstar Paige and GFW Champion Alberto Del Rio appeared on Bully Ray's podcast to blame the internet for their drama.

It isn't rare when something is wrong in a relationship to either deny there is a problem or to blame others for your actions. It appears as though Paige and Alberto Del Rio have a little bit of both going on.

WWE Superstar Paige and GFW Champion Alberto El Patron (Del Rio as he's known in the WWE) appeared on Busted Open Sirius Radio with Bully Ray and Dave Lagreca and tried to clear the air on a number of items, including their domestic incident at the Orlando airport. While the couple has been a hot topic of news since they got together, it was that specific incident that led to front page headlines and had people (including Paige's family) worried for her safety.

Understandably, both Paige and Del Rio downplayed the incident. In fact, they blamed the internet and media for “blowing the story way out of proportion.” The couple noted that it's not right they're asked to feel shame for having a normal fight and while they regret arguing in public, it's something every couple does. They've only been singled out because they are in the public eye.

Both then joked about the alleged severity of the incident, mocking fans who reacted as though it was some kind of “massacre”. After stating they're not happy to have to share their relationship with the public, in an ironic twist, both cited their excitement for the official police report to be made public in an effort to show what really happened.

Del Rio looked to Bully Ray to back up his testimony that he and Paige can be passionate, but that their passion means they can go from dropping "f-bombs" to loving each other in a matter of minutes. This incident was just another example. Paige admitted to throwing a drink at Del Rio and Del Rio admitted to saying something not nice, but the couple then claimed that 90% of what the media relayed to the public was not true.

Paige expressed regret that her family responded to the incident but understood that because of what they read on the internet, they were concerned. Paige added everything is “fine” with her family now, besides the fact that they are upset because her uncle passed away. Del Rio agreed that it was hard not to be worried when the media is your only source of information.

In the end, the couple made a half-hearted apology to younger fans and expressed their excitement to get back to work. Del Rio understood why he was suspended by GFW but will be back and Paige is ready to return to the WWE and is excited at the prospect of doing so.

The couple maintained that they feel they're happy together and that if the public saw all of their relationships, they'd understand there is far more good than bad. It may never happen as both noted it was best to stay off social media during times like these.

It appears, for now, the media will be the fans main source of information and fans with then be asked to take the couple's word for it when they say things are fine, despite a ton of evidence that suggests otherwise.
