Paige's steep rise to the top of the women's division made her a big star. The British wrestler was at the top of the ladder from NXT, where she became the first-ever NXT Women's Champion and put the women's division of the black-and-gold brand on the map.

Paige also had a fair share of success in her relatively short main roster career. She won the Divas Championship on her very first night on RAW and ended up winning the belt twice in her career. But in the young and successful career of Paige, she did several things that hardly made any sense.

10 Paige Ended AJ Lee's Record Long Divas Championship Reign On Her First Night

Paige defeats AJ Lee

With a reputation from NXT, Paige made an immediate impact on the very first night of her main roster career. On the RAW after WrestleMania 30, Paige challenged AJ Lee, who was the Divas Champion, in an impromptu title match.

Paige shocked every fan in the arena by quickly pinning AJ Lee to win the Divas Championship. While it was an incredible achievement to win the title on her first night, it didn't make sense to end the 295 days long title reign against someone who just made her debut. Even Paige's reaction said it all that even she couldn't believe it.

9 Was The Manager Of The Kabuki Warriors

asuka paige

Paige became a manager by aligning two Japanese Superstars, Kairi Sane and Asuka. The newly formed duo called themselves The Kabuki Warrior. Perhaps the primary reason for them to get Paige as a manager was because they weren't fluent in English.

The association, however, was disappointing after Paige left the Kabuki Warriors to get neck surgery. While The Kabuki Warriors didn't win the Tag Team golds under Paige's supervision, they managed to do the same without Paige around their corner. Consequently, when Paige returned on an episode of RAW, The Kabuki Warriors abandoned her.

8 Randomly Announced The SmackDown Women's Championship Match For WrestleMania 36

BAYLEY SASHA

WrestleMania 36 took place without any crowd in the WWE Performance Center. While the company would usually build a title match for a grand event like WrestleMania, it wasn't the case last year.

Paige, who was absent from WWE TV for a while, suddenly showed up and announced the SmackDown Women's Championship match for WrestleMania 36. Paige wasn't the general manager, nor did she have any TV role at that moment, so it didn't make sense that she randomly announced the title match.

7 First Main Roster Defeat Was Against Alicia Fox

PAIGE ALICIA FOX

Paige had a blockbuster debut on the main roster, as she won the Divas Championship on her very first night. She had the popularity as well as the momentum as champion. After a couple of title defenses, her first-ever main roster loss came against an unusual opponent.

Paige faced Alicia Fox on an episode of RAW in a non-title bout. But, surprisingly, Paige lost the match, making it her first defeat on the main roster.

6 The Blunder In The First Divas Championship Reign

Becoming the youngest ever Divas Champion in WWE history, Paige garnered attention. When she grabbed the Divas Title for the first time in her career, she was expected to have a solid run, given she was the one to stop the indomitable AJ Lee.

Her first Divas Title run was substandard, and her booking made her look like a weak champion. Being the holder of the belt, she suffered losses against a couple of mid-card divas in non-title matches. After a dream start of her main roster career and first Divas Championship reign, the awful booking didn't do any justice to her talent.

5 Vacated The NXT Women's Title Instead Of Dropping It

PAIGE NXT

Paige won the Divas Championship after WrestleMania XXX while she was still the NXT Women's Champion. After a stupendous reign of over 300 days, she was coerced to forfeit the title because she won the Divas Championship.

The decision didn't make sense because she was already having such a great run with the NXT Title, and the reign should have ended properly. Had Paige lost the belt against a credible challenger in NXT, it would have made a new star.

4 The Losing Streak Against Nikki Bella

PAIGE VS NIKKI

Following Paige's second title run, she became embroiled in a long feud with Nikki Bella, who was then the Divas Championship. She faced both The Bella Twins in this time frame, and she challenged then Divas Champion, Nikki Bella, in pay-per-views and weekly episodes.

It made little sense for a young and promising talent like Paige to lose in every title match against Nikki Bella. Even though Nikki Bella took dirty roads as a heel, Paige's embarrassing losing streak against Nikki made her character irrelevant.

3 Won Two Non-Title Matches Against Charlotte Flair But Lost The Only Title Match (RAW, June 20, 2016)

PAIGE VS CHARLOTTE

Paige was the victim of bizarre booking of WWE a few times, including once in 2016, right after WrestleMania 32. After being away from the title picture for a while, she had a brief feud with Charlotte, then the WWE Women's Champion.

Paige built momentum after beating Charlotte Flair not once but twice in two non-title matches. Given her impressive victories, she received a deserving title shot. However, Paige lost the match when it mattered the most, which made no sense.

2 Turning Heel & The Lackluster Heel Run

WWE-Paige

In all honesty, Paige always did a better job as a face than a heel. None of her heel runs was impressive, whereas she had success as a lovable babyface or anti-diva. When PCB was still going strong, WWE decided to turn Paige heel, which wasn't a great decision.

Paige tried to be a ruthless villain, but it didn't work out and the fans continuously rejected the heel Paige. During her feud with Charlotte Flair, she crossed the line by insulting the dead brother of The Queen. She even slapped Ric Flair.

1 The Strange Relationship With AJ Lee in 2014

Paige and AJ Lee on Raw

There was no denying that AJ Lee was one of the biggest rivals in Paige's career, as they had awe-inspiring matches for the Divas Championship. However, Lee and Paige shared a weird relationship in mid-2014. While one night they would face each other with the title on the line, the other night they would act like best friends.

The illogical and strange relationship between Paige and AJ Lee made little sense. Later in 2015, Paige and Lee became tag team partners and even competed at WrestleMania 31.
