WWE doesn't generally like to give out statistics. Doing so would give away some hidden truths the company doesn't want its fans to know about. Statistics such as heel versus babyface win/loss records or just how often a title gets defended on live events tend to make it quite apparent how fake the sport truly is.

The truth is that statistics have not played a role in professional wrestling because they can take away from the story the promotion wishes to tell. If two rivals are going into a match because of a long-running feud, WWE does not want fans focusing on how one wrestler has dropped three of their last four matches. WWE just want you thinking about how these two wrestlers hate each other and are going to tear each other up in the ring.

If WWE brought up that some of the wrestlers they portray as unstoppable giants, such as Big Show or Nia Jax, actually lose more matches than they win, it would take all the fun out of watching them wrestle. That's why WWE hides these statistics. The fun part about stats, however, is you can never fully hide them. They're always visible for those who have the time and ability to find them. We have both the time and ability in this article. Here are 15 embarrassing statistics of current stars WWE wants you to forget.

15 Sasha Banks - Never Successfully Defended Women's Championship

Sasha Banks is a four-time Raw Women's Champion. She's never successfully defended the title, however, at least not on television. Three of her reigns did include title defenses at house shows but never once on WWE television or the WWE Network.

Banks has expressed frustration in the past regarding how she has been used on the main roster. In particular, Banks has said that her short title runs have made her question how much confidence the company has in her.

As of this writing, Banks is again out of the Raw Women's Championship picture. The last time she held the title was in August of 2017, though that was only an eight day reign. Perhaps Banks will have to squash her developing rivalry with Bayley before she can once again hold the title.

14 John Cena - Only 5 PPV Wins Since 2016

Since 2016, John Cena has only five wins on PPV along with nine losses. He's 3-3 in singles matches, having defeated Baron Corbin, Rusev, and A.J. Styles but having lost to Roman Reigns and Styles twice.

In multi-person matches on PPV since 2016, Cena has zero wins and five defeats. His defeats include a 6-Pack Challenge for the WWE Title (Fastlane), the 2018 Elimination Chamber match at the Elimination Chamber PPV, the 2018 Royal Rumble, the 2017 Elimination Chamber match and a triple threat for the WWE Championship at No Mercy 2016.

In tag matches since 2017 on PPV, Cena is 2-1. He defeated The Club along with Big Cass and Enzo at Battleground 2016, then defeated The Miz and Maryse with Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33 but finally lost the traditional Survivor Series match in 2017.

13 Sami Zayn - 0-7 in Championship Matches On Main Roster

Sami Zayn has been on the main roster for two years but has not had the same level of success compared to his best friend, Kevin Owens. He won the NXT Championship in developmental but never anything on the main roster.

His first two matches on the main roster were both for titles. He lost to John Cena in the United States Championship Open Challenge and then he lost in the 2016 Royal Rumble match which had the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at stake. In total, Sami Zayn is 0-7 in championship matches on the main roster.

As of this writing, Daniel Bryan has just fired him from SmackDown so perhaps Zayn will never win a title... though that seems unlikely. Zayn's standing in the company seems to have risen lately due to his heel turn and alliance with Owens.

12 Rusev - Abysmal Win/Loss Record

Rusev was once undefeated for an entire year. He rode that winning streak into WrestleMania to face John Cena. In fact, he rode a winning streak on a Russian tank into WrestleMania to face John Cena. Since then, however, his win/loss record has swung in the opposite direction.

According to the statistics, Rusev has one of the ugliest winning percentages on the roster in recent years. In 2018, Rusev is a stunning two wins and 27 defeats. In 2017, Rusev didn't do much better as his 28W-97L record is hardly anything to be proud of.

When everything is added up, Rusev averages winning just 21% of his matches since 2017. It should also be noted that all of his wins occurred on Rusev Day. Unfortunately, all of his defeats also occurred on Rusev Day.

11 Curt Hawkins - Defeated The Undertaker... Kind Of

Curt Hawkins himself pointed out this statistic on Twitter recently.

While much has been made of Curt Hawkins' losing streak, he does have an official victory over The Undertaker attached to his rather unimpressive win/loss record. In fact, he's beaten him twice.

Both victories Hawkins scored over The Undertaker took place nearly a decade ago. Hawkins was one of Edge's "Edge Heads" along with Zack Ryder at the time. Ryder, Hawkins, and Edge teamed up to defeat The Undertaker in a 3-on-1 handicap match on the March 4th, 2008 episode of SmackDown. They then defeated The Undertaker again the next week in a 4-on-1 handicap match when Vickie Guerrero joined their team.

Another astonishing fact here is that The Undertaker has never defeated Hawkins. Those two matches from 2008 are the only two times Hawkins and Taker have ever wrestled.

10 Bayley - Has Won One Match on PPV in a Year

Aside from the Raw versus SmackDown Survivor Series match in 2017, Bayley hasn't won a match on PPV in over a year. The last time she won a match where she wasn't part of a team on a PPV was WrestleMania 33 when she won a fatal 4-way match to retain the Raw Women's Championship.

When WWE brought Bayley up to the main roster in 2016, it looked as though they were going to push her to the moon. It took her just four months to win the Raw Women's Championship but not long after she dropped the belt to Alexa Bliss and has promptly slid to the bottom of the division ever since. Since that time she has lost a singles match, Kendo Stick match, a fatal 5-way and the inaugural Raw Women's Elimination Chamber match. Each of those matches saw Alexa Bliss get her hand raised.

9 Kane - Has Lost 1,259 Matches

50-year-old Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, was first signed to WWE in 1995. In the 23 years he's been wrestling for the company since, Kane has lost a lot of matches. In fact, Kane has lost a grand total of 1,259 of them.

On a more positive note for Kane, he has won 1,540 matches in WWE according to the statistics. He's also wrestled to 112 draws in that time. In total, Kane has a winning percentage of 52.9% during his time in WWE.

Kane is hoping his winning percentage in Mayoral races reaches 100% later this year. He is running for Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee. If he is to win, his match days might be over with, ending his astonishing wins/loss record.

8 Chris Jericho - Record in Money in the Bank Matches

Chris Jericho has gone on record saying that the Money in the Bank match was his idea. Despite this, he's never won the match and he's been in five of them. Jericho says he even wanted to be the first person to fail at cashing in the briefcase but ultimately that honor went to John Cena.

Jericho doesn't have the worst record of anyone in MITB matches, however, as Christian and Kofi Kingston are 0-6 each in the gimmick match. Considering Jericho's standing in WWE, however, it's amazing he's never once won the briefcase.

Jericho is always one to look for something new or innovative to give the fans. That might be part of the reason why he pushed Vince McMahon to let him wrestle Kenny Omega in the Tokyo Dome this year.

7 Triple H - More Defeats at WrestleMania Than Anyone

As much as he gets given heat for booking himself strong, Triple H has actually lost more matches on the Grandest Stage of Them All than anyone else in history.

Triple H has a record of 9-12 at WrestleMania. His 12 losses are one more than the next biggest loser at WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels. It seems the two founding members of DeGeneration X aren't exactly big match players in terms of wins.

There was a time when many people believed Triple H would eventually break Ric Flair's record for most World Title reigns but now given his age and wrestling schedule, it's clear that won't be happening. Instead, John Cena is the one who has tied Ric Flair's record and could go on to break it someday at WrestleMania. It's entirely possible Triple H isn't even finished losing matches at WrestleMania either.

6 Women's Championship - Turnover Rate  

One complaint with modern-day WWE is that it is far too easy for wrestlers to win a championship. This is especially the case in the women's division which has less competitors than any of the men's.

There are currently 11 female talents on Raw. Of those 11, five have already been champion. Of the six who haven't, there is Ronda Rousey (hasn't wrestled a match yet), Sonya Deville (just debuted), Mandy Rose (ditto), Asuka (will win it soon) and Nia Jax (will win it soon). The same deal exists on SmackDown where five of the 11 women have won the World Title before. Of the six who haven't, there is Carmella (MITB winner), Lana (not that good), Tamina (also not that good) Liv Morgan (just debuted), Sarah Morgan (ditto), and Ruby Riott (3x ditto).

5 Samoa Joe - Injury Frequency

Samoa Joe graduated from NXT to the main roster early last year. He spent a large amount of time on the injured list during the course of the year. His injury frequency has actually been so bad that there are worries it will impact how Vince McMahon chooses to book him moving forward.

Joe went from February to August in 2017 without injury. He then injured his knee and was out for two months causing a change in booking plans for the Raw brand.

He returned to Raw on October 30th, 2017 but would be back on the injured list come January. He's been gone since. Of the 13 months Joe has been on the main roster, he's only been healthy for eight months and injured for five. That's not a good ratio.

4 Alicia Fox - One Championship Run In Decade Long Career

Last year, Alicia Fox publicly stated she is a little embarrassed. Despite being a 10-year veteran in WWE and being the first female of color to win the Divas Title, Fox has spent most of her time in WWE sitting on the sidelines. She's played bit roles here and there, including as the love interest of half the 205 Live roster in 2017. She also lamented about never having had merchandise available via WWE Shop. Shortly after making the comments, however, WWE did produce a "Crazy Like a Fox" shirt.

Aside from her Divas Title run in 2010, Fox has been kept out of the main storylines in WWE for her entire career. As of this writing, Fox is currently on the injured list. She was forced to miss the first ever Women's Royal Rumble as a result.

3 Dolph Ziggler - Went Over a Year Without a Win on PPV

Bayley doesn't have much to complain about in comparison to Dolph Ziggler, however. Ziggler has become the poster-child for wrestlers who could have been pushed but weren't.

At Clash of Champions 2017, Ziggler won the United States championship by defeating Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode in a triple threat match. It was his first win on PPV since No Mercy 2016.

Ziggler has wrested on 81 PPV events in his time in WWE. These date all the way back to Vengeance 2006 when he wrestled as part of the Spirit Squad. Of those 81 matches, he's only won 22 of them. Despite his poor win/loss record, however, Ziggler just signed a new multi-year contract with WWE. Some had speculated that if Ziggler wanted to take his career to the next level, he would have to leave the company but that doesn’t appear to be what he’s going to do.

2 John Cena - Lost A World Championship 16 Times

John Cena and Ric Flair might be tied for the most all-time World Title reigns with 16 but that also means they are tied for another far less appealing record. Both John Cena and Ric Flair have lost a World Championship on 16 occasions as well.

In reality, it makes little sense for WWE to evaluate their former champions by their number of title reigns. Days spent as champion or title defenses are a far more accurate evaluator of champions but WWE doesn't seem to see this or have decided it doesn't fit into their narrative.

It makes little sense that CM Punk's 400+ day reign as champion counts for less than John Cena losing and regaining a championship multiple times inside the same time period but it's how Vince McMahon chooses to measure his champions so that's what it is.

1 Daniel Bryan - Lost the Shortest Championship Match in WrestleMania History

Daniel Bryan's rise in popularity received a jolt based on what happened at WrestleMania XXVIII. The die-hard WrestleMania crowd chanted "Yes!" even before Bryan was introduced and despite being billed as a heel at the time.

Bryan turned to give AJ (his storyline girlfriend at the time) a kiss and when he turned back Sheamus kicked him in the face and pinned him. Sheamus won the World Title from Bryan in just 18 seconds.

What ended up happening, however, was the WrestleMania crowd began continuously chanting for Bryan and perhaps felt they got ripped off from seeing him perform at WrestleMania. Not long after, Bryan would turn babyface and begin the Yes Revolution. Now, nearly six years after this match took place, Daniel Bryan's WWE journey is ready to continue again.
