The WWE Women's Tag Team Championships haven't gotten as much television time as many had hoped, with only three different title reigns taking place since the belts were introduced in December of last year.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross are the curren title holders, having won a fatal four-way match on the Aug. 5 episode of Raw to dethrone The IIconics. But it sounds like Bliss and Cross could be dropping the championships in short time.

Mike Johnson of PW Insider Elite audio (h/t Ringside News), speculates that Sasha Banks' recent victories over Bliss and Cross "predicate that " her and Bayley "might get another title shot."

Banks and Bayley won a tag team match over Bliss and Cross on last week's episode of Raw. And yesterday, Banks defeated Cross in a singles match via submission - further suggesting that her and Bayley could make a run at those Women's Tag Team Championships.

The Boss 'n' Hug Connection won the inaugural Women's Tag Team titles at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, and they held onto the titles for 49 days. However, Banks and Bayley lost the championship belts to The IIconics in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 35 - and the latter duo held on to them for 120 days.

It was reported after WrestleMania 35 that Banks was unhappy over WWE's decision to take the title belts off of her and Bayley - which supposedly led to her four-month hiatus. Of course, we now know that it wasn't the case - as Banks stated she needed a break from wrestling to think about her future.

Banks turned heel when she returned to WWE programming last month, and Bayley has since followed suit. Bliss and Cross are babyfaces now, so it looks like our next Women's Tag Team Championship feud is in the works.

Banks And Bayley Deserve Another Title Run

Both Banks and Bayley are flourishing together as heels, and they certainly deserve a second reign with the Tag Team Championships - especially if the latter drops her SmackDown Women's Championship soon. The Women's Tag Team titles have been ignored far too often, but Banks, Bayley, Bliss and Cross can help add more relevance to them if they continue to clash for the titles.
