WrestleMania is the biggest wrestling event of the calendar year, not just for WWE, but for the sport in general, which means when it comes to booking what takes place on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, WWE has some big responsibility.

Not only does the card have to feature something for every different type of fan, but it also must try and put as many wrestlers onto the card as possible in engaging and entertaining storylines that are going to draw a huge crowd and a big audience on the Network.

Because of that, plans for the show can begin as early as the night after the previous WrestleMania and whilst they might be ever changing with management tweaking them and things such as injuries and new signings certainly playing a factor, the card gets locked down as early as possible. WrestleMania 34's main event of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns was reported as early as over a year in advance, which made fans dread the eventual match all the more when it finally happened.

On top of the fact, WWE itself is very much planning for the show, the rumor mill always goes into overdrive when it comes to WrestleMania season as every fan wants to know the line-up as well, which means there are constant stories swirling on the internet. With that in mind, in this list, we will take a look at 10 rumored plans for WrestleMania 35 and 10 that are already being worked on.

20 Reported: Triple H vs. Batista

The Animal, Batista has been making it pretty clear lately that he wants to return to WWE as soon as possible for one final run with the company, and he doesn't want to just pop back for a one-off either.

Batista wants a full run, including house shows, where he competes every night, fully committing to the company, and he wants his final feud to be against none other than Triple H, finishing at WrestleMania.

And with Batista returning at SmackDown 1,000, it's expected the seeds will be planted for this feud.

With Batista being so vocal about it, WWE would be foolish not to take the chance at bringing in a Hollywood household name and putting him up against Triple H, who we all know will be competing at 'Mania regardless.

19 Ongoing: Braun Strowman Gets World Title Shot

WWE has done an amazing job with Braun Strowman, turning him from an incredibly green wrestler that nobody cared about in the Wyatt Family to one of the biggest stars in the entire company.

He has been given monster pushes as both a babyface and as a heel and Strowman has proven his ability in both roles and shown all the signs that he is a main event talent worthy of being a World Champion.

Last WrestleMania, Strowman was given the short end of the deal with his tag team match. This time around, that is unlikely to be the case, with the Monster Among Men set to be in the title picture.

18 Reported: Undisputed Era Competes

It was a surprise to many when nobody was called up from NXT after SummerSlam weekend, with that usually being a spot where the company decides to bring up a handful of talents, and the Undisputed Era was rumored to be some of the talent considered.

While it didn't happen then, you have to imagine that there will be some call-ups between now and WrestleMania, simply to freshen up the product with two big weekends still to go in Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble. Having the Undisputed Era being called up is rumored and would be a great decision, and a possible six-man or even an eight-man tag on the show would be a great way to showcase the groups potential.

17 Ongoing: Featured Cruiserweight Match

Ever since the cruiserweights were brought back to the company they have very much been an afterthought when it comes to the mainstream WWE, with the 205 Live stars no longer appearing on Raw and very rarely seeing the main card of a PPV.

That has included WrestleMania events where the past two years since they have been around seeing the Cruiserweight Championship matches be placed on the pre-show, despite them being two of the best matches on the card each year.

Recently WWE has begun investing in the division again, putting a renewed focus into the brand.

This focus should see them finally be given a spotlight on the main WrestleMania card, ideally in the form of a ladder match.

16 Reported: John Cena Breaks Ric Flair's Record

It has been a long time since we have seen John Cena working a full-time schedule in WWE but when it comes to WrestleMania season, you know that he will be back on Raw or SmackDown every single week and will certainly have a match at the show.

Everyone has been waiting for the moment when Cena will break Ric Flair's incredible World Championship record, with both of them currently level and that time could come at WrestleMania 35.

While it might not be what everyone wants to see, as Cena becomes a bigger name outside of WWE, it is only going to inspire the company even more to make that decision and if WWE can push for Cena to stick around a little it may well be this coming 'Mania.

15 Already Ongoing: Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch is on the roll of her career right now, even in the heel role (despite the fans wanting her to be a babyface) she is doing an incredible job and WWE would be foolish not to position her as a top star heading into WrestleMania.

The chances are that she could walk into the show as the Women's Champion and a perfect opponent for her would be Asuka who needs a major change in order to get her career back on track after a weak feud with Carmella.

Once Lynch's feud with Charlotte Flair comes to an end, a quick transition feud until the Royal Rumble would be a wise move before leading into a major WrestleMania feud against The Empress Of Tomorrow.

14 Reported: Conor McGregor Appears

The UFC star is one of the smartest businessmen in sports right now and WWE is always looking to bring in major names from outside the world of wrestling for WrestleMania and you can't get much bigger than Conor McGregor.

McGregor has already planted the seeds for a possible wrestling feud by his trash talking of the business on social media.

That is an instant storyline to walk into whenever WWE does decide to bring him in.

There are rumors that this coming WrestleMania could be the time that the UFC legend makes his way into wrestling for a one-off appearance and after seeing the success of Ronda Rousey, you can easily see why.

13 Ongoing: Samoa Joe Gets A Big Spot

Samoa Joe has been incredibly unlucky the past two years, missing out on WrestleMania at the very last moment. Not having any plans for him at WrestleMania 33 and sustaining an injury prior to 34, Joe has missed two big opportunities for a shot on the big stage.

It is one of the only big goals left for the veteran wrestler to accomplish in his career, but WrestleMania 35 seems like the time when it is going to finally happen and WWE is putting all its effort into ensuring he will play a big role.

Joe is expected to either be in the WWE Championship match or SmackDown's other big PPV match for the show and with the current work he is putting in, it seems like WWE is getting everything in place for that.

12 Reported: Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley

The match that wrestling fans have been waiting on ever since they both originally worked for the company, WWE has held off on having Brock Lesnar square off against Bobby Lashley but that might all change at WrestleMania.

Seeing the clash of the two former MMA stars will certainly be a WrestleMania worthy match and would work well in the mid-card of the show. Fans have tired of the Beast in the main event scene and given that it might be Lesnar's final match in WWE finally giving fans this one would be fitting.

While it might not be a show stealer in terms of quality if WWE can get Paul Heyman to sell the feud to perfection and have the match be similar to Lesnar's clash with Goldberg it would certainly be a hit.

11 Ongoing: New Day Split

What is left for The New Day to achieve? They have held multiple Tag Team Championships, including having the longest reign in WWE history and have managed to get everything from cereal to pancakes over with the fans.

Everyone has felt the power of positivity but its now time for a change as the group is starting to become stale.

It's always better to end things on top rather than when fans have had enough of something, and WrestleMania would be the best time to do it.

Placing them in a match and having one member turn on the rest of the group would be a huge WrestleMania moment and this would continue into a huge feud, ideally with Big E as the major heel singles star.

10 Reported: Jason Jordan vs. Kurt Angle

Obviously, this is depending on Jason Jordan's health, as reports have suggested Jordan's in-ring future is in doubt due to a neck injury.

In an ideal world, WWE would likely have wanted this match to have happened already as this is certainly where the whole father and son storyline was heading, but the serious injury to Jason Jordan clearly put a halt to these plans.

With both Jordan and Kurt Angle currently off TV, the chances are that whenever they finally return the family angle will continue to be told. Rumors state that Angle is going to be wrestling more moving forward and there's no doubt he will be putting over younger talent when he does.

WWE has plenty of faith in Jordan which is why they gave him this gimmick, and putting this as a mid-card match at WrestleMania 35 could be a great decision if the story is told correctly during the build up.

9 Ongoing: Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

At one stage it looked like this match was actually going to happen at WrestleMania 34 with WWE planting the seeds for it, but in the end, both women found themselves duking it out in the Women's Battle Royal.

Instead of making the feud happen straight after, the company has opted for a slow burn with this one which looks set to go all the way until next WrestleMania with the rivals now teaming up as best friends once again.

While everything is calm and happy right now as the Boss n Hug Connection are working their way through the competition on Raw, there is no doubt that eventually, one is going to snap, and WrestleMania is the time to do it.

8 Reported: Bullet Club Appears

A lot of this rumor is going to come down to whatever decision is made by the Being The Elite section of the Bullet Club and whether or not they decide to re-sign their current contracts, but if they don't you can make no mistake about it, they will be WWE-bound.

If they do decide to leave the independent scene, the chances are that they will want to work the huge MSG show before they do, which means they won't be available, at the earliest, until WrestleMania anyway.

Witg a diehard wrestling crowd in attendance, having the Bullet Club show up to potentially end WrestleMania would create huge shockwaves around the wrestling world and would certainly have people talking about WWE.

7 Ongoing: Daniel Bryan In A Title Match

This will most likely end up being the WWE Championship match, but either way, Daniel Bryan should find himself in a title match when it comes to WrestleMania 35, possibly for the first time since returning to the ring.

WWE has done a good job at keeping him out of the title scene so far with feuds against Big Cass and now The Miz, but there is only so long that he can be kept away with his tremendous talent and overwhelming popularity shining through.

WWE will likely once again bill Bryan as a major underdog no matter who he is facing and nobody can sell that story better than Bryan so hopefully, WWE can position him back at his best, just like at WrestleMania 30.

6 Reported: The Final Resting Place

It seems like this has been a rumor regarding WrestleMania every single year since WrestleMania 30 when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker, but 'Mania 35 is once again being rumored to be the final match of 'Taker's career.

Of course, the chances are that won't be the case and he will once again don the hat and gloves but for now, that is the speculated plan and most would agree that the time is right for The Deadman to walk away.

With WrestleMania 35 taking place in the home of wrestling, New York, it seems like a fitting location for Undertaker to finally call time on his legendary career.

Ironically, one name being thrown around as an opponent is Shawn Michaels, whom 'Taker retired at WrestleMania nearly nine years ago.

5 Ongoing: Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler

Right now the partnership between former NXT Champion, Drew McIntyre, and WWE veteran, Dolph Ziggler appears to be going to perfection, but eventually, that is going to run out, with the company clearly having big plans for McIntyre.

At some point, the Scottish superstar is set to turn on his partner, allowing himself to stand out as the star of the team and becoming a major player in the WWE's singles main event scene.

However, before McIntyre is able to break through into that category on his own, he will need to go through Ziggler in convincing style, which could easily take place at WrestleMania if the company drags it out that far.

4 Reported: The Rock Wrestles

The Rock understandably hasn't had much free time in the past few years to put aside to allow him to appear for WWE, which means the last time we saw him in an official match (other than his squash against the Wyatt Family), was WrestleMania XXIX.

Ever since then, WWE and the WWE Universe have been wanting to see The Rock back in the ring and it is rumored that WrestleMania 35 might be the time that it finally happens, possibly for the final ever time.

A rumored match against Brock Lesnar has been teased ever since 'Mania XXIX, and could finally go down this time around, but it doesn't really matter who he faces, the fans will be into it no matter what.

3 Ongoing: Shield Triple Threat

If WWE really wants to create a blockbuster main event for WrestleMania 35 then they need not look any further than all three members of the Shield, competing against each other in a triple threat for the Universal Championship.

WWE has already set the seeds for this to happen, bringing all three men back together to chase after titles and fend off each other's rivals, just like the good old days, but between now and 'Mania that can easily all unravel.

Having three of the top WWE stars competing against each other, all of which have their own dedicated, hardcore fan bases would make for an incredible moment that is fitting of the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

2 Reported: Andrade "Cien" Almas Wins Royal Rumble

According to rumors this week, Vince McMahon has been incredibly impressed by former NXT Champion, Andrade "Cien" Almas since he joined SmackDown Live, which is why he has been featured heavily on the show in recent months.

Whilst WWE has committed to some major storylines already, meaning Almas isn't being used in a storyline right now, the current plans have Almas winning the Royal Rumble next year, leading him to a major WrestleMania match.

Of course, plans can change and Vince McMahon may very well switch up his ideas but as it stands, Almas is the planned winner of the Rumble, meaning at WrestleMania 35 he will be set for a WWE Championship match.

1 Ongoing: Ronda Rousey's Main Event

Ever since Ronda Rousey arrived it was clear that the company was going to put the machine behind her and who can blame them? As one of the biggest female sports stars in the world, WWE understands the potential that she has as a box office draw.

Last WrestleMania Rousey stole the show with the mixed tag team match and since then she has gone from strength to strength, picking up the Raw Women's Championship as WWE prepares her for a major match at WrestleMania 35.

One of the big things of the women's evolution has been pushing for a female main event for the biggest show of the year and now that the company has someone as big as Rousey, it could be the time, with the company clearly keeping her strong for a possible main event WrestleMania match.
