Tonight's episode of SmackDown Live will be focused on the fallout of the brand's "siege" of Monday Night Raw yesterday. In case you missed it, members of SmackDown invaded Raw and attacked a number of superstars, including Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Goldust.
So while fans wait to see how SmackDown responds—and if there'll be a siege from the Raw roster—there have already been a pair of intriguing matches that you won't want to miss.
According to PWInsider.com, Randy Orton and Sami Zayn will face off in a match to determine one of the spots for Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler will also compete for one of the five spots on the squad.
Roode will obviously be vying for the right to make his first appearance at Survivor Series. At last year's event, Randy Orton was on the victorious Team SmackDown. Ziggler was absent from the card, while Zayn lost to The Miz in an Intercontinental Championship match.
It'll be interesting to see who wins between Orton and Zayn. Though the former has proven to be one of the top stars for quite some time, Zayn hasn't had his shining moment since coming over from the NXT roster. Perhaps a victory over Orton (and a spot on the blue team), could give him the momentum he needs. Though, that wouldn't make sense from a storyline point as Zayn is in a heated rivalry with SmackDown's authority figures.
As for Roode and Ziggler, their mid-card rivalry will be rekindled once again. Roode defeated Ziggler at Hell in a Cell, but the latter got even with a pinfall victory a couple of weeks later. Tonight's bout could be the grudge match in their rivalry.
It'll also be fun to see if any stars from Raw come over to try and interfere in the matches. Surely, you have to believe some of them will be out for revenge after what happened last night.
