If the rumors are true that WWE is considering starting a tag division for the female competitors of WWE, it will be another major step for the Women's Division and the "revolution" of female wrestling. The Tag Titles in WWE are highly respected belts that some of the greats in the industry have worn, many of whom started as tag competitors and went on to become some of the biggest stars in WWE history.

In WWE today, there aren't a lot of female teams or duos that might immediately fall into the category of tag potential competitors but there are a few. So too, tag teams can be made by finding two talents with a common interest and teaming them up toward a common goal. Some of the best teams didn't start together, but came together after trying their luck as singles competitors.

So, if WWE did go through with a tag division for the women, who would be immediate contenders? Let's take a look at some of the most obvious answers.

The IIconics

Any current tag team list for the women of WWE should start with The IIconics who are known more for working together than working apart. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were a formidable team in NXT and got called up to the main roster of WWE, debuting as a unit an not individually. They have been inseparable ever since.

There may be no team that know each other better, no duo that would look out more for one another and no pair that would trust each other more deeply than these two do and that makes them the perfect team to start as tag champions if this rumor ever becomes reality.

The Bellas

Brie and Nikki Bella may be the most famous sister duo in all of WWE, perhaps in all of wrestling. Two women who joined as part of a Diva Search, they spent years earning respect in the wrestling industry with Nikki eventually becoming one of the most decorated female competitors in WWE history.

Nikki has far out-accomplished what Brie has in the ring, but both are extremely tight when it comes to everything else. They are in business together, they have a show together and if they make a comeback, it will likely be together.

Charlotte and Becky Lynch

You won't find many friends tighter than these two. While it's not heavily promoted on WWE programming, Becky and Charlotte are BFFs behind the scenes and working with your friend is never a bad place to consider starting your team.

They are the creators of Tea Generation X, have their own secret handshake and are often known as Thelma and Louise to other wrestlers. Both are part of SmackDown Live and both are highly respected in-ring talents. They would be a hard team to beat.

Sasha Banks and Bayley

If Banks and Bayley could overcome their issues and ever get back on the same page, there was a time that these two blew the roof off of arenas when they were in the ring together. That kind of chemistry isn't easy to come by and it would make a perfect team dynamic for the new Women's Tag Division.

Both could also use the change of pace as neither seems to be at the top of their game recently in WWE and have been losing to mid-card talents.

Ronda Rousey and Natalya

What we've learned in recent weeks on WWE programming is that Ronda Rousey and Natalya are close. Nattie helped train and prepare Rousey for her debut in WWE and Rousey feels like she owes Natalya for getting her ready to embark on a new career that could make The Baddest Woman on the Planet the biggest star in WWE.

In a way, the two are already teaming together as Rousey has helped Natalya when out-numbered. That said, this wouldn't be a long-term team. Natalya is nearing the end of her WWE career while Rousey is poised to be the singles competitor WWE banks on for years to come.
