Primo And Epico Ready For Return To SmackDown Live

The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division is about to have a familiar pairing inserted into its ranks after a return from injury this week.

Shortly after WrestleMania 33, WWE initiated a Superstar Shakeup. A way of moving a few Superstars between Raw and SmackDown Live without having an entire draft from scratch. There were some big moves like The Miz to Raw and Kevin Owens going the other way, but also some lesser moves as well. One of those lesser moves came in the form of Epico and Primo Colon heading to Tuesday nights.

The Puerto Rican cousins underwent a few makeovers in an attempt to propel them up the card. They took the form of a couple of bullfighters when they were Los Matadores, then they switched careers to travel agents and were known as The Shining Stars. When they arrived on SmackDown Live they were simply known as The Colons and looked as if they might get a good amount of screen time, but then injury struck.

We have not seen Epico and Primo on SmackDown Live since June after the latter was sidelined with an injury. According to The Wrestling Observer though they're back. The Colons teamed with Mike Kanellis this past Tuesday in a dark match before SmackDown Live to take on Tye Dillinger, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable in a six-man tag match. The Perfect Ten picked up the win with after hitting Primo with the Tye Breaker.

Getting a spot at the top table of SmackDown Live's tag division is not going to be easy. Ever since The Colons have been away from the ring, it revolved around two teams, New Day and The Usos. It's only the last couple of weeks that another team has even got a look in as Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin became the new number one contenders to Jimmy and Jey's recently regained crowns.

Outside of New Day and The Usos, the only team really worth watching on SmackDown Live right now is Breezango. There is an outside chance that we could be swerved and WWE reveal The Colons to be Tyler Breeze and Fandango's attackers, however, that role seems to be going to Luke Harper and Erick Rowan who have recently been christened The Bludgeon Brothers.
