Orton has been involved in countless rivalries throughout his career, and even though some have been lacklustre, many have been amazing, and within this article, we will take a look back at Orton's 10 greatest feuds.

10 Batista

One man that Randy Orton has tons of history with is The Animal, Batista, with the two men growing together in the company and becoming legitimate threats thanks to their time together in Evolution.

However, while they have been partners for large chunks of their careers, they have also been bitter enemies plenty of times as well, with their history only helping to make their rivalries even more interesting.

They competed many times against each other, with both men challenging for a spot at the top of the card as they went on to become two of the biggest names in wrestling.

9 Kurt Angle

Randy Orton and Kurt Angle may not have feuded as long as others on this list, but when they did, it was incredibly entertaining! The two men put on some absolutely fantastic matches.

With the Olympic Gold Medalist in the prime of his career and Orton growing into his, the two men had superb chemistry in the ring, as they are very good friends in real life.

If Angle had stuck around in WWE for longer they would certainly have wrestled a lot more; however, while it lasted, it was fantastic.

8 Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy might not be the first person that springs to mind when you think about Randy Orton, but the two men have competed on and off throughout their careers, including their fantastic feud in 2018.

Orton returned to his very best heelwork against Hardy's sympathetic babyface, with things culminating in a brilliant Hell in a Cell match that saw the two men create some incredibly innovative spots.

However, it was actually Hardy's initial return to WWE and his subsequent feud against Orton that saw these two produce their best work, proving they have created an incredible number of great moments.

7 Shawn Michaels

Is there anybody that Shawn Michaels isn't an amazing rival of? The Heartbreak Kid is arguably the greatest wrestler of all time, and he has feuded with Randy Orton on multiple occasions, always to great effect.

Anytime two workers as talented as these two enter the ring together, the result is always going to be golden. It is just a shame they didn't compete more.

As well as their singles feud, the two men also competed in tag team action as Rated-RKO took on D-Generation X in one of DX's best ever tag team feuds, proving they could get the job done outside of singles competition.

6 The Undertaker

The Undertaker has managed to compete with so many wrestlers that many of his feuds often go underrated. That said, his rivalry with Randy Orton was one of the best, especially when it came to their fantastic WrestleMania 21 match.

This was the time when it became clear that Randy Orton was moving from the mid-card to the main event scene, with Orton and the Deadman battling for over 9-months.

The two men didn't battle over titles, instead, they kept things incredibly personal, and they certainly did a great job at doing just that.

5 Mick Foley

The Legend Killer was one of the most exciting stages of Randy Orton's career, with the young talent clearly showing that he was going all the way to the top, taking out countless WWE legends along the way.

One name that he came up against was Mick Foley, with Orton having one of Foley's last great matches as they collided for the Intercontinental Championship in a fantastic Hardcore match at Backlash 2004.

The feud between them didn't exactly last long, but it was incredibly impactful, with Foley going above and beyond to put Orton on the map as a top star, while Randy himself stepped up and showed the world what he is all about.

4 Daniel Bryan

When people look at the crazy rise of Daniel Bryan to the main event scene, they often simply look at Triple H or WWE, in general, pushing down against him as his main rival during that process. In truth, his real rival was Randy Orton.

The first time he claimed the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after beating John Cena, it was the Viper who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, and that was just the starting point between them.

Bryan battled hard in order to get the prize and eventually he was able to do just that with an incredible WrestleMania match against Orton (and Batista), with this being one of Orton's better modern rivals.

3 Christian

If Randy Orton were to name his favorite rivals, his 2011 summer feud with Christian is likely to be one of the first feuds to earn a mention, with the two men putting on a series of incredible matches.

Orton and Christian battled it out for the World Heavyweight Championship, with both men bringing the best out of each other. Christian was finally given the chance to prove himself as a main event talent.

2 John Cena

Randy Orton and John Cena have wrestled so many times that people actually started to get a little sick of seeing this rivalry, but that only shows how much WWE depended on these two men to carry the company at the time.

Orton and Cena burst onto the scene around the same time and crept up from the bottom to the main event level, with their careers running fairly parallel to each other.

They brought the best out of each other and have had some of the greatest matches of their careers on the biggest stages possible, creating one of the best feuds in modern history.

1 Triple H

One of Randy Orton's biggest mentors and former teammate within Evolution also happens to be his greatest ever rival, with the Viper and Triple H competing countless times throughout the years.

The two men have competed year after year at the highest level. Out of all their encounters, their 2009 storyline is the pick of the bunch, as Orton went through the entire McMahon family, picking them off one by one.

Things got incredibly heated and personal as Triple H attacked Orton inside his own home, creating one of the best storylines in history. Shame their WrestleMania XXV match failed to deliver.
