The Raw tapings in Manchester will be aired on Monday, and fans will be in for quite the surprise when they turn on their television sets.
Per Paul Davis of Wrestling News, one of WWE's perennial heels hinted at a babyface turn during the show. That would be Randy Orton, who came to the aid of Ricochet and Humberto Carrillo for a six-man tag match.
Carrillo and Ricochet needed a tag team partner for their showdown against AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The Viper wound up joining them, and they pulled off a victory against The O.C.
Orton has been a heel for well over a year now, though he's flipped between bad guy and good guy throughout his career. The 13-time World Champion has the ability to portray both roles in convincing ways, and ultimately, WWE creative can do no wrong with him.
Plus, the Raw brand has more than enough heels. The O.C., Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Brock Lesnar and Erick Rowan, among others.
The Survivor Series is only two weeks away now, and Orton hasn't been added to the card yet. If anything else, he's a strong candidate to represent Team Raw in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination tag match.
A Face Turn May Be Best For Orton
Though Orton has flourished as a top-tier heel over the past year, it's a good time for WWE to turn him face again. There are plenty of promising feuds here for Orton on Raw, including Lesnar and Styles. Seth Rollins may continue to work as the brand's main babyface, but having Orton on the good side would do wonders as well.
