ORTON 2017

While Randy Orton won titles in 2017, including the WWE Championship, he was far from his best. The Viper won the 2017 Royal Rumble and eventually won the WWE Title at WrestleMania 33.

However, he had a disastrous run because the fans didn't seem to take him well as the holder of the belt. As a result, he dropped the title within six weeks to Jinder Mahal at Backlash. After Mahal, Orton had a short feud with Rusev in 2017, but it was another ordinary program where he was going through the motions.

At the start of the year, Orton's rivalry with the McMahon family led to a huge WWE Championship match with Triple H at WrestleMania 25, where they main evented the show. Moreover, his feuds with Batista, John Cena, and Kofi Kingston were praiseworthy.

2018 wasn't a year to remember for Randy Orton, as he was stuck in the mid-card throughout it. Perhaps it was a reason he wasn't motivated to deliver his best performance in between the ropes.

Orton became a Grand Slam Champion in 2018, capturing the United States Champion the first time at Fastlane. However, he lost it right away at WrestleMania 34. In the second half of the year, he had rivalries with Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio, but neither of those feuds was extraordinary.

ORTON EDGE

Randy Orton was perhaps the best version of himself as a natural heel in 2006. During his rivalry with Rey Mysterio in the initial months, Orton created a nuclear heat as a heel. He also challenged the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22.

Nevertheless, his best moment in 2006 came when he joined with Edge to form Rated RKO, who had an impressive feud with DX. As part of Rated RKO, he won the World Tag Team Championship with Edge once.

Kofi-Kingston Randy-Orton-

2019 was a year when it looked like Orton was coerced to be in the business as a veteran, but he wasn't willing to give much effort to make his feuds interesting. In fact, there was even a rumor of his departure from the company.

Randy Orton and AJ Styles wrestled at the beginning of 2019, and they locked horns at WrestleMania 35. He was also in the WWE Championship picture against Kofi Kingston, but he failed to capture the belt. He seemed off all throughout the year.
