Many wrestlers define their careers by success as a world champion. The goal of every wrestler to some level is winning the world championship due to what it represents. Most wrestlers in the spot either are one of the faces of the company or they have a chance to be.

Randy Savage didn’t put too much stock into being the champion as much as some others. Triple H and Hulk Hogan were especially known for always wanting to be in the world title picture. Savage’s quote here makes it known that he mostly cared about entertaining the fans, which he did consistently.

While it’s unclear when Macho said this — if he ever did — it wasn’t the first time that Savage said something along those lines. Back in October 1985, he cut a promo on Intercontinental Champion Tito Santana in which he said, “Comparatively speaking, you are like a grain of sand in the Sahara Desert, yeah. And I'm the entire desert!” It’s such a good line Savage can be forgiven for recycling it years after the fact.
