Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair in the opening match on the second night of the WWE Draft to ensure Raw picked first once again.

The 2019 WWE Draft kicked off last Friday on SmackDown. The first match of the night took place between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to determine which brand would pick first. Thanks to interference from Bray Wyatt, Rollins wound up being disqualified. That meant Team Red got the first pick of the night, and USA execs opted for Becky Lynch.

Lynch's first act as the number one pick was to win Raw the first pick on the second night of the draft. Raw started with a match between The Man and Charlotte Flair with the same stakes as the bout between Reigns and Rollins on Friday. Sasha Banks was supposed to be representing SmackDown but was replaced by Flair due to injury.

Lucky for WWE, Lynch and Flair are about as well-acquainted as two Superstars possibly can be. Best friends behind the scenes and very familiar competitors between the ropes. That showed yet again in this match as the two of them had the WWE Universe on its feet by the end of proceedings. It was then that the Raw Women's Champion managed to steal a win and escape with the first pick for Team Red.

With that pick, Raw opted to go for Rollins. A pick that makes a lot of sense since The Architect is currently Universal Champion. SmackDown hit back by picking WWE's other World Champion, Brock Lesnar. Raw then made sure the night's opening match would be the last time Flair represents SmackDown for a while, bringing The Queen to Monday nights.

With the last picks of the first round, Raw chose Andrade and Zelina Vega, while SmackDown selected all three members of The New Day. Those picks mean a couple of things. One, that the tandem rivalries between Lynch and Banks, and Flair and Bayley have presumably come to an end. Well, at least until Survivor Series. And two, maybe since Kofi Kingston is on the same brand as Lesnar, he'll get a WWE Title rematch.
