Recap

Dean Ambrose is out first to address the Tripe Threat match this Sunday. Ambrose proceeds to once again call out Brock Lesnar but is instead joined by Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie antagonizes Ambrose and announces that Ambrose will receive an F5 tonight ... a Fatal Five-Way match for the Intercontinental Championship ... right now.

Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens vs. Stardust vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship)

Unique and unusual way to kick off the show: strong action from these mid-card men who are clearly the heart of WWE. In the end, Kevin Owens scores the pin on Tyler Breeze to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

Backstage: Dean Ambrose tells Renee Young that The Authority haven't "taken" anything from him but rather have "given" him inspiration. Kevin Owens then arrives for his "well-deserved recognition" as Dolph Ziggler interrupts and demands an Intercontinental Championship match. Owens declines and walks away.

The New Day cut their comedy shtick in the ring prior to a match.

Big E vs. Mark Henry

Typical match here: pushing, shoving, slamming. Big E wins.

-In-Ring Interview with Brie Bella-

Brie Bella begins to discuss the "next chapter" in Daniel Bryan's life before she is interrupted by Charlotte. The Divas Champions feels that Brie should forfeit her match this Sunday to stay home with her husband. Charlotte states that Brie should "go home" and tend to her husband and sister. Brie refuses to back down; causing Charlotte to throw a verbal jab at Brie's future children. Brie attacks Charlotte for a moment before Charlotte slips out of the ring and leaves with Ric Flair.

The Miz vs. A.J. Styles

Some good action throughout this match as A.J. Styles continues to showcase his talents to the WWE Universe as he forces The Miz to tap out.

Post-Match: Chris Jericho approaches A.J. Styles who cuts off Jericho and challenges Y2J to a match at Fastlane. Jericho says he will "think about it" and let Styles know his answer this Thursday on SmackDown.

The Dudley Boyz arrive to explain their recent actions and heel turn. Bubba Ray calls out The Usos who are not in the building. D-Von explains how The Dudley's will not be "some nostalgic act that will ride off into the sunset." Bubba then informs the fans that the "tables are gone forever."

Summer Rae vs. Paige

This match seemed out of place. Summer Rae picks up the surprise victory.

Paul Heyman is out to address the crowd. Heyman calls out Roman Reigns who gladly obliges. Heyman informs Reigns that he cannot get past Brock Lesnar on Sunday. Heyman attempts to sour Reigns on his friendship with Dean Ambrose. Reigns is not sold on the Heyman Kool-Aid; stating that he will be the one who emerged the victor on Sunday and at WrestleMania.

Post-Match. The Dudley Boyz attack Roman Reigns. The assault continues until Dean Ambrose arrives to help his "brother." Following a handshake, Ambrose fakes a Dirty Deeds on Reigns; making a bold statement in the process.

Heath Slater vs. Zack Ryder

Pointless. Annoying. Heath Slater Over Zack Ryder.

-Another comedy segment between Goldust and R-Truth-

Lucha Dragons and Neville vs. League of Nations

Excitement provided by the three high-flyers. Brutality provided by the League. Alberto Del Rio scores the pin on Sin Cara.

Becky Lynch vs. Naomi

"The Lass Kicker" takes it to Naomi; forcing a quick tap out.

Post-Match: Naomi and Tamina attack Becky Lynch until Sasha Banks arrives and backs off her former partners.

The Wyatt Family "speak the truth" prior to the match. Bray Wyatt shoots out some social commentaries and informs the audience that he will have to make a "choices for them" moving forward.

Braun Strowman vs. Big Show

This match is quickly interrupted by the rest of The Wyatt Family.

Post-Match: Ryback arrives to help Big Show, followed by Kane who arrives through the ring mat. The Wyatt Family is cleared out as the show concludes.

Going Forward

The tease has been placed concerning Dean Ambrose winning the Triple Threat match at Fastlane. However, it is simply a tease. The odds of Ambrose actually challenging for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania are slim. Place your bets on Roman Reigns.

Brie Bella challenging Charlotte for the Divas Championship as a sentimental opponent is a nice little storyline which should last no longer than Fastlane as Charlotte needs to be champion heading into WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens is once again Intercontinental Champion; which is great. However, this once again places Owens right back into the middle of the pack. Hopefully, the break through will come someday.
