Recap

Dean Ambrose is out first to open up the show from London with another edition of the "Ambrose Asylum." Ambrose announces his guest as none other than the man in charge (once again), Shane McMahon. Shane explains that "it's all about the WWE fans." Shane puts over the Superstars who would have never "gotten a chance." This brings out Kevin Owens who calls into question Shane's motives. Owens beings to talk trash on Sami Zayn which brings out the Superstar to set Owens straight. Next? Here comes Chris Jericho. Y2J claims that Shane is "drunk with power." Shane then steps in to announce that Jericho will face Ambrose at Payback while Owens will take on Zayn. And, bring on the brawl.

Chris Jericho vs. Sami Zayn

These opening bouts have been incredible over the past few weeks. Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn set the night's tone with a fantastic match. In the end, Y2J wins.

Backstage: A.J. Styles meets up with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a mini Bullet Club reunion.

The Dudley Boys vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (Tournament Match)

Solid match here with the New School going over the Old School as Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady advance in the tournament.

Roman Reigns is out next: the WWE World Heavyweight Champion addresses A.J. Styles and their upcoming match at Payback. Reigns puts everyone on notice that he is here to stay as Styles makes his way out. Styles gives Reigns his props but explains how "having the match of his life" will make him champion. Styles walks away Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows attack Reigns from behind.

Backstage: A.J. Styles explains to Roman Reigns that he had no knowledge of the attack. Reigns doesn't believe his opponent.

Baron Corbin vs. Fandango

Squash match: Baron Corbin wins in short fashion.

Post-Match: Dolph Ziggler attacks Baron Corbin but has the assault turned around as Ziggler takes the worse of the battle.

-Miz TV-

The Miz and Mayrse put down English Royalty before engaging in a lip-lock. The couple are interrupted by Cesaro. The Miz performs a "monologue" - which the fans hate - before Cesaro states his claim to the Intercontinental Championship. Cesaro - while chewing bubble gum - quotes Roddy Piper before looking to fight The Miz. However, the segment quickly turns into an Eight-Man Tag Team match.

The New Day and Cesaro vs. League of Nations and The Miz

Cesaro is over everywhere he goes these days; it's too bad that means nothing to those in power. The Swiss Superman scores the pinfall.

Backstage: Natalya confronts Charlotte - confirming a Women's Championship match at Payback - and announcing that Bret Hart will be in her corner.

Becky Lynch, Natalya, Paige, and Sasha Banks vs. Naomi, Tamina, Summer Rae, and Charlotte

Decent bout from the ladies tonight but too there is too much clutter that comes along in an Eight-Woman Tag Team match. In the end, Charlotte taps to Natalya.

The Vaudevillians vs. The Usos (Tournament Match)

In a slight surprise, The Vaudevillians make short work of The Usos to advance in the tournament.

Apollo Crews vs. Heath Slater

Apollo Crews continues to roll as he picks up the easy victory.

Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose

There was once a time when Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose in the main event of Monday Night Raw was far from a reality. While this is nice, keep in mind, John Cena will soon return ... Strong match ... Hard action ... Fresh feeling ... Ambrose wins with Dirty Deeds.

Post-Match: Chris Jericho hits Dean Ambrose with a Code Breaker to conclude the show from England.

Going Forward

Let's focus on the A.J. Styles situation:

The idea of a Bullet Club run in WWE has the internet a-buzz. Tonight, the tease occurred but will it happen? And, if so, would WWE bring up Finn Balor to round out the group?

A.J. Styles is not a WWE guy and will likely never hold the World Heavyweight Championship. However, with the Bullet Club as a supporting cast, there could be something interesting made out of Styles' time in WWE.

Can the Bullet Club prove to be a modern nWo?
