The WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be decided tournament style. Find out how it all shaped up on the latest edition of Monday Night Raw:
Triple H comes out to address the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation. Triple H gives Seth Rollins his props before bringing out Roman Reigns. Triple H attempts to bring Reigns over to his side but Reigns is having none of that.
Roman Reigns vs. Big Show (Tournament Match)
Complete and utter waste of time. Not one person watching Raw truly believed Big Show would advance in the tournament. Reigns wins with a Spears.
Kevin Owens vs. Titus O'Neil (Tournament Match)
Another obvious first round victory from Kevin Owens. Good effort from Titus O'Neil though.
Becky Lynch vs. Paige
The lass from Ireland taking on the native British lady ... Soccer fight feel ... Good back-and-forth action which would see Becky Lynch score the roll-up victory.
Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (Tournament Match)
This match could have gone either way: quick pace throughout which would eventually have Dolph Ziggler emerge victorious.
Naomi vs. Natalya
"We Want Sasha!" would prove to be the predominant message of this match. Not much action; Natalya scores the roll-up pin for the victory.
Sheamus vs. Cesaro (Tournament Match)
Solid battle here in another toss up bout: by far the match of the night. Cesaro wins with a very unique roll up technique.
Dean Ambrose vs. Tyler Breeze (Tournament Match)
The in-ring Raw debut of Tyler Breeze would prove impressive enough but not enough to overcome Dean Ambrose who picks up the victory.
The New Day vs. Neville and The Usos
Usual six-man tag team action: Neville was on fire in this match but would find himself pinned by Xavier Woods.
-Bray Wyatt Eulogizes The Undertaker and Kane-
Bray Wyatt discusses the inevitability of change. Wyatt asks the crowd to celebrate the spirits of Kane and The Undertaker by bowing their heads and "paying respects" to the two legends. Wyatt goes on to claim that their "respects" now belong to him as he has taken everything for his own. Wyatt states that "the apocalypse is here." This leads to a Titantron montage of "The Brothers of Destruction" followed by lighting bolts hitting the ring posts and stage ... and then ... they appear. The Undertaker and Kane approach Wyatt before the remainder of his family arrive.
The Undertaker and Kane clean house to end the show.
It truly is a shame that the reign of Seth Rollins has ended with an injury. Rollins really has been The Man in WWE this past year.
That being said: a tournament is always an interesting way of crowning a new champion. However, considering his involvement with Triple H, the odds-on-favourite appears to be Roman Reigns.
Watching Kevin Owens emerge from the bracket as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion would be amazing but that's just wishful thinking. Owens could very-well make it all the way to the end but the ride will end there.
