The rivalry between The Bar and Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose is one that has been going on for quite a while now. Rollins and Ambrose won the Raw Tag Team Championships from the European pair all the way back at SummerSlam. Then two weeks before Survivor Series The Bar won the titles back during the main event of Monday Night Raw with an assist from The New Day.
Naturally The Shield's first port of call following that eventful night was Survivor Series and gaining revenge on The New Day. That is now done and out of the way and their focus has returned to those who took their titles from them. With Dean Ambrose and Sheamus away this past Monday, on a honeymoon and a sabbatical respectively, Seth Rollins and Cesaro were left to battle it out in singles action.
Rollins and Cesaro put on quite the match to open up this week's Raw with their partners absent. The Swiss Cyborg almost had his opponent beat when he poked The Architect in the eye while the referee's back was turned, however it wasn't quite enough. Rollins managed to turn the tables back in his favor and finish Cesaro off via a Ripcord Knee. After the match Seth made both his and Dean's intentions very clear when it comes to what they want next from The Bar.
Charly Caruso interviewed Rollins after the match and asked if The Shield now have different goals and if they will be headed their separate ways. Seth informed her that it was quite the contrary. Instead he announced that he was invoking his and Dean's Tag Team Title rematch clause and that the match will be taking place on next week's Raw. He signed off by saying once they win, all of The Shield will then hold titles.
Whether Seth and Dean win next week or not, you have to imagine that the match will signify the end of the rivalry between The Shield and The Bar. The feud has been going on sporadically for over four months now and actually played a key role in the reformation of The Shield. Time for a new team to get a shot at the titles now though, whether that be against the current holders or if The Shield win them next Monday.
