Eagled-eye fans will notice when they see a match take place at a certain pay-per-view they will have noticed that it happened previously at the same event. The likes of Shawn Michaels against The Undertaker, Triple H going toe-to-toe with The Undertaker, and Randy Orton going head-to-head with Bray Wyatt are rematches that have occurred at multiple WrestleManias.

It was another dominant performance from Phoenix, who ensured the result did not alter.

Four years later, Owens and Reigns clashed in a Universal Championship match at the 2021 Royal Rumble. This time, The Tribal Chief was the heel, and Owens was the babyface. 2 Undertaker Vs. Mankind - King Of The Ring 1996 & 1998

Undertaker v Mankind HIAC

However, their first televised pay-per-view matchup was at the 1996 King of the Ring. Mankind overcame Undertaker with his debilitating Mandible Claw. They'd feud on and off for the next two years but their rivalry culminated in a noteworthy Hell in a Cell match at King of the Ring 1998. Mankind took some horrific bumps but Undertaker was victorious in a legendary match that will live in Sports Entertainment infamy.

1 Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels - Survivor Series 1992 & 1997

Hart v Michaels Survivor Series

The first ladder match in WWE history was not Shawn Michaels against Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X. It was actually Bret Hart and Michaels clashing on the Wrestling Challenge in July 1992 with The Hitman retaining the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match.

Months later they had their rematch at Survivor Series 1992 with Bret now the reigning WWE Champion, and Michaels holding the Intercontinental Title. It was a magnificent contest with Bret retaining the title. However, five years later at the 1997 Survivor Series, Michaels recaptured the WWE Championship in the Montreal Screwjob. Alas, Bret and Michaels' match at Survivor Series is the only singles match to be a rematch at that showpiece event.
