2018 certainly wasn't one of WWE's best years in recent memory from a quality standpoint by any stretch, but business and financial-wise, 2018 was an absolute blessing for WWE and Vince McMahon specifically. It seemed as though WWE were trying to find ways to maximize their profits more than they were interested in creating the most intriguing product they could, but you can be assured that Vince will be stepping up his game substantially as 2019 comes around. Ratings have been very low across the board in WWE lately (both Raw and SmackDown), and with a newfound TV deal with FOX set to occur next October, McMahon is in dire need to create some intriguing television over the next eight to ten months in hopes of boosting their ratings and overall viewership.

While we are still a couple of months away from 2019 and the official "Road To WrestleMania," we have already become aware of many of WWE's rumored plans, storylines, pushes, returns, debuts and scenarios which are likely to take place next year heading into WrestleMania 35. It cannot be denied that WWE's creative team has a lot of work to be done over the next few months, and we can only hope WWE sticks to the better and more appealing potential scenarios. Though many of them do sound great, many certainly wouldn't be appealing to most fans. Today, we will take a closer look at 10 reported WWE scenarios we can't wait to see in 2019, and 10 nobody (or very few) want.

20 Can't Wait To See: Asuka Finally Turns Heel

via nexterawrestling.net

Many fans have been absolutely appalled by WWE's treatment and overall booking of "The Empress Of Tomorrow." In all reality, Asuka is nowhere near where she should be on SmackDown Live given the fact she was the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble match winner and was featured in a major match at WrestleMania 34. It seems as though Vince McMahon had simply given up on Asuka following 'Mania, and for much of the past few months, Asuka has been completely irrelevant and the lowest she's ever been on WWE pecking order.

However, while many have proclaimed that Asuka is "finished" or "buried" in WWE, there's still some hope, thankfully. The current rumor swirling around in regards to Asuka is that The Empress may be turning heel in early 2019, and by all means, this may resurrect Asuka's dwindling career. Let's cross our fingers! With that said, far more consistent booking would also be required to help recapture Asuka's past glory.

19 Nobody Wants: The Wyatt Family Reunion

via fansided.com

While Bray Wyatt has been in a "state of despair" in recent times due to his inconsistent booking, few fans desire to witness the rumored Wyatt Family reunion which is allegedly being discussed among WWE's creative team. For the past month or so, the rumor mills have been reporting on Vince's plans for a new and improved Bray Wyatt, but regardless of the fact that fans wish to see Bray receive the spotlight and push he deserves, rehashing The Wyatt Family certainly isn't what most fans have in mind...

Though a reformation of the famed stable could help Erick Rowan and Luke Harper to some extent, as most of you will agree upon, it would be the worst thing possible for Braun Strowman. Without a doubt, Braun has come an extremely long way since The Wyatt Family days, and going back to Strowman's previous henchman persona would make the past two years seem like a complete and utter waste of time.

18 Can't Wait To See: Charlotte Flair Wins Women's Royal Rumble

via wwe.com

Although some fans give Charlotte Flair a bit of a hard time due to her continuous pushes and for seemingly "hogging" the spotlight, for the bulk majority of WWE fans, it's an agreed upon fact that Charlotte is arguably the best Women's wrestler on the company's main roster. Perhaps WWE takes Charlotte's "superwoman" booking slightly too far when she completely outshines other deserving stars such as Becky Lynch and Asuka, but when it comes to monumental matches, there isn't a Women's wrestler who can be more relied upon to deliver a fantastic match and storyline.

The current rumored Royal Rumble 2019 scenario is that Charlotte Flair will be winning the Women's match. Thus setting up a dream bout against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35. While other female performers such as Asuka and Becky Lynch would be worthy WM opponents for Ronda, Charlotte certainly won't be getting too much hate seeing it'll probably be the "match of the night" at 'Mania.

17 Nobody Wants: Ricochet Joining 205 Live

via pwpix.net

205 Live certainly got off to a terrible start in WWE; to the point where most fans desired to see WWE cancel the show altogether. Thankfully, Vince has since given up the creative control to a much more capable Triple H. However, while the Cruiserweights are doing fine as of now under Hunter's new vision, it still isn't where most fans wish to see some of their favorite Superstars from NXT end up. 205 Live still has the stigma of being the "C Show" and lesser than compared to the main roster shows.

Among the current NXT stars who are being discussed to join 205 Live in 2019, Ricochet's name is likely to cause the biggest uproar amongst fans. Although Ricochet would certainly add tons to the Cruiserweight Division, it can be guaranteed that most fans have much higher hopes for the extraordinarily talented high flyer in WWE. Many desire to eventually see Ricochet capture a WWE Championship. Let's hope Triple H can convince McMahon that Ricochet has far more to offer the company than 205 Live.

16 Can't Wait To See: Shawn Michaels Vs. AJ Styles And Other Dream Opponents

via comicbook.com

Few fans have been able to get over the fact that Shawn Michaels looks nothing like he used to with his bald head, and some have even pointed out that HBK looks like a cross between Gillberg and Karl Anderson. Pretty accurate, right? Regardless, Shawn Michaels proved at the otherwise much-reviled Crown Jewel that he's still very much "The Heartbreak Kid" of old, and without a doubt, Shawn carried the entire DX versus Brothers of Destruction match.

While WWE teased that HBK would be heading back to the retirement home in an exclusive interview on the company's YouTube channel, we know full well that Vince McMahon has every intention of having Michaels return for more matches in the very near future. According to the rumor mills, WWE have five dream matches lined up for Michaels in 2019 ahead of WrestleMania 35, and one of the matches currently being discussed backstage is AJ Styles.

15 Nobody Wants: Raw Tag Team Titles On WrestleMania Pre-Show

via wwe.com

As many fans will agree on, WWE certainly haven't been making the Raw Tag Team Championship a priority as of late, and it unfortunately looks as though this trend will be continuing into 2019 - a scenario few want to see. Recently on Raw, The Authors of Pain dismantled the lone Seth Rollins to capture the supposedly "coveted" championships, despite having little to no momentum, Judging by the crowd reaction, the title switch fell terribly flat.

Despite having some great champions in the past, the Monday Night Raw Tag Team division has not been faring well recently, and former title holders such as The B-Team speaks volumes in regards to how Vince McMahon views the belts. 2019 doesn't looks as though it'll be a very good year for the Raw Tag Team Championship, and it has been reported that the titles will most likely be defended on WrestleMania 35's pre-show while the SmackDown Tag titles will likely get the main card treatment. Regardless, there definitely is no lack of championship-worthy duos on Raw, but most teams have been booked horrendously thus far (The Revival and AOP for example).

14 Can't Wait To See: Heel Dean Ambrose Receives Main Event Run

via spaziowrestling.it

Dean Ambrose has been lost in the shuffle for much of his career following The Shield's breakup, but things finally seem to be heading in the right direction for "The Lunatic Fringe" as of right now. After being benched with an unfortunate injury which kept him on the shelf for much of 2018, Dean is back, and he's back with a vengeance and a newfound look. No longer is Dean Ambrose the skinny Lunatic without a clear direction. Ambrose now has great potential as a jacked-up, tough heel with no sympathy for others. Exactly the kind of gimmick Dean's hardcore fans were desiring to see.

Although other Raw Superstars such as Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman are going to be key players heading into 2019, rumors suggest Dean Ambrose will also be amidst the main event scene on Raw leading up to WrestleMania 35. It's unknown at this point if Ambrose will eventually capture the Universal Championship, but his chances are unquestionably much higher now than they were this time last year.

13 Nobody Wants: Jinder Mahal Push

via heavy.com

Jinder Mahal's sudden rise to the SmackDown Live main event scene was enough to freak most fans out last year, because prior to his shock Six Pack Challenge victory which secured a WWE Title match against Randy Orton at Backlash, Jinder truly couldn't have been any lower on the company's pecking order. He was in the same league as Zack Ryder, Bo Dallas, and Heath Slater, among other low ranking enhancement talents. Jinder went on to have a lengthy run as WWE Champion which wasn't exactly well received by most fans. His push somewhat carried on into early-mid 2018 when Mahal was featured in the US Title scene.

However, since coming over to Monday Night Raw, Jinder Mahal quickly fell down the card following an awful feud with Roman Reigns, and according to various sources, Mahal is currently being punished for his lackluster performances. With that said, Vince will definitely be pushing a few heels in 2019, and unfortunately for some, Jinder Mahal is most likely going to be receiving yet another push come the new year.

12 Can't Wait To See: The Miz Dethrones AJ Styles For WWE Championship

via dailyddt.com

Now if this article had been written four years ago, it can be guaranteed that no one in the WWE Universe would be hoping to see the scenario of The Miz capturing the WWE Championship for a second time come to fruition. However, things do change drastically in sports entertainment, and The Miz has never been hotter with such an ample amount of momentum.

For much of the past year, many fans have been wishing to see Miz re-enter the main event scene on SmackDown Live, and thankfully, this looks to be a scenario WWE creative will be going ahead with come 2019. The Miz is currently the odds-on favorite to end AJ Styles' historic WWE Title reign on SD Live, and by all means, this would be awesome (no pun intended) if this rumor proves to be accurate. Now it can be assured that The Miz will most likely require the assistance of Maryse to pull a fast one over Styles, but regardless, it would be a great title change in my books.

11 Nobody Wants: Repeat Men's Royal Rumble Winner

via postandcourier.com

Over the past couple of years, the supposed "anything can happen" WWE Royal Rumble's have been becoming more and more predictable, unfortunately. We have been seeing far too many repeat winners as of late (Nakamura last year being an exception), and without a doubt, most fans want a new winner each year which gives a deserving Superstar the opportunity to shine in the spotlight. Last year was a breath of fresh air when Nakamura won the RR, but the current rumor surrounding next year's Rumble match is that there will be yet another repeat winner.

Some dirt-sheets have speculated that The Rock is currently being discussed backstage to win the Men's Royal Rumble, but other repeat winners including John Cena, Randy Orton, and The Undertaker are also possible options. Although most fans would rather have a deserving talent such as Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, or Andrade "Cien" Almas win the match, that doesn't look to be the scenario WWE will be moving ahead with in 2019...

10 Can't Wait To See: Sami Zayn's Return From Injury

via supersport.com

Sami Zayn has been out of action as of June to deal with multiple shoulder injuries, and regardless of the fact that Sami has always been vastly underutilized, most fans cannot wait for Zayn's rumored return, which is likely to take place ahead of WrestleMania 35. Sometimes injuries can be a blessing in disguise (Dean Ambrose, for example), and there's always that possibility that WWE will put forth a conscious effort in booking Sami Zayn well following his return.

While Monday Night Raw's main event scene will be crowded with the likes of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Drew McIntyre, Brock Lesnar (when he does show up), and Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn would definitely be a solid option for the Intercontinental Championship. It's probable that WWE will make the IC Title match a multi-man bout at WrestleMania, and Sami Zayn would certainly be a perfect addition, seeing he'll likely be back in time for "The Show Of Shows."

9 Nobody Wants: Over-Reliance On Legends And Part Timers

via wwe.com

Now, this definitely isn't an issue that has only been affecting WWE recently, because, throughout history, Vince McMahon has always relied heavily on part-timers and legends to carry Raw and SmackDown heading into a big pay-per-view like WrestleMania. This over-reliance on part-timers has only intensified lately, simply because it seems as though McMahon has little to no faith in his current roster being able to draw in enough fans.

Without question, this reality is entirely Vince's fault, because it can be said that Raw and SmackDown are certainly not short of potential Superstars, and it's only the terrible booking that has kept many wrestlers down in the dumps so to speak. However, just like 2018, WWE will definitely be utilizing their legends and part-timers more prominently next year than many deserving current Superstars, and this is a scenario few fans wish to see come true.. Now it's doubtful that most fans have an issue with the odd match or storyline involving past stars, but when they completely overshadow the supposed stars of today, that's when it becomes a problem.

8 Can't Wait To See: Drew McIntyre Wins Universal Championship

via thesportster.com

Drew McIntyre certainly didn't let himself get complacent when he was released from WWE a few years back, because, following his unfortunate firing, McIntyre set off to prove that Vince McMahon had made a dire mistake. Fast forward four years and Drew McIntyre is back amidst the fold on Monday Night Raw, and this time around, McMahon definitely won't be under-utilizing his talents. Drew McIntyre has been on fire ever since his return to WWE in NXT, and it's become very apparent that it's only a matter of time before Drew captures the Universal Championship.

With Roman Reigns out of the equation, Drew is undoubtedly one of the Superstars who will be carrying the Raw brand as we head into 2019. Current rumors suggest that WWE will be moving ahead with the scenario of having Drew capture the Universal Title in 2019, and at this point, McIntyre is one of the odds-on favorites to end Brock Lesnar's title reign. Braun Strowman may be an intimidating specimen, but it's clear Vince has more faith in Drew McIntyre as a long-term main eventer.

7 Nobody Wants: John Cena Breaks Ric Flair's World Title Record

via wwe.com

Although in some aspects it seems as though WWE has moved past the "Era of John Cena," at the same time, Vince still has a strong attachment to the past. For the past couple of years, John Cena has been putting forth most of his time and energy into his Hollywood career over professional wrestling, and while it has been bittersweet for most fans, it has been a transition that was desperately needed.Few fans were interested in seeing Cena continue to hog the main event spotlight.

However, while Cena's full-time days in WWE are long over, a reported scenario which may come to fruition in 2019 regarding the 16-time World Champion is sure to annoy some fans - especially those who love "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Current rumors point to WWE giving Cena his 17th WWE Championship reign in 2019 to take over the record Flair has long since held. Alhough this wouldn't be the worst thing under certain circumstances, knowing WWE, this monumental moment would likely be ruined or made to feel rather cheap.

6 Can't Wait To See: Hulk Hogan Becomes Raw General Manager

via nydailynews.com

'The Immortal" Hulk Hogan's return to WWE at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view and received mixed reactions from fans and Superstars alike, but it's clear that Vince McMahon will be bringing Hogan back to the company long-term in the near future regardless of the hater or naysayers. Although Hulk Hogan has a lot of baggage and controversy surrounding his name, it's very hard to deny the fact that Hulk Hogan is one of the all-time greats, and his presence has been missed by many.

With Kurt Angle reportedly set to make a comeback to the ring on a more consistent basis, the question begs, who could be taking over as the Raw General Manager? There is currently speculation that Hulk Hogan's name is being discussed backstage amongst officials to take over the role as Raw GM, and this would likely be the best way to utilize Hogan for the first bit of his run in the company.

5 Nobody Wants: Daniel Bryan's Ongoing Burial

Since his surprise return to the ring, Daniel Bryan has unfortunately been on a downward spiral over on SmackDown Live. Regardless of the fact that Bryan is healthy to compete at a high level, Vince certainly hasn't been pushing Bryan like he was prior to the injuries, and quite honestly, Daniel has been seemingly falling down the card at an accelerated rate. Daniel's recent loss against AJ Styles on SmackDown ahead of the Crown Jewel PPV spoke volumes in regards to how Vince views Bryan, and by all means, it certainly isn't good news whatsoever...

According to RingSideNews, Daniel Bryan's submission loss against Styles on SD Live indicates that WWE officials have given up on Daniel as a top star, and that McMahon is feeling the same way. Perhaps Daniel Bryan's outspokenness about the Crown Jewel event has affected Vince's view on the former WWE Champion, but whatever the case may be, Bryan's ongoing burial isn't a scenario any fan wishes to see continue in 2019.

4 Can't Wait To See: Batista's Return To The Ring

via wrestlingnews.co

When this article had been started, this entry was regarding Dave Bautista's future feud with Triple H, but as many of you are well aware, things can change drastically in sports entertainment. Following Crown Jewel, Triple H was diagnosed with a pectoral injury which has required surgery. At this point in time, it looks as though "The Game" will be missing WrestleMania 35. This means Batista vs. Triple H is most likely off the cards now.

However, you can be assured that Vince McMahon still has every intention of having Batista perform at next year's WrestleMania. WWE is likely scrambling to find a suitable opponent or feud for a soon-to-be returning Batista. Among the names fans would love to see Batista face next year is Brock Lesnar. There's always that possibility Vince will try to make that "money match" a reality. Regardless, having Batista back amidst the WWE fold will definitely be good for business and the fans alike.

3 Nobody Wants: Shane McMahon Heel Turn And Return To The Ring

via monstersandcritics.com

For years now, fans have given Stephanie McMahon a hard time for continuously stealing the spotlight, but in recent times, more and more members of the WWE Universe are beginning to realize that good old "Shane-O-Mac" is following in the same footsteps. While the Crown Jewel pay-per-view would've likely still went down as a flop had the booking decision not been made for Shane to steal the spotlight from The Miz and Dolph Ziggler in the finals of the World Cup, that awful decision undoubtedly sealed Crown Jewel's fate.

Apparently, Shane McMahon's sudden involvement in the finals was to set up a heel turn for Shane and to build up for a Raw versus SmackDown match at Survivor Series, but regardless, it left a very sour taste in most fans mouths. According to numerous sources, WWE has plans to utilize Shane McMahon in a more active wrestling role heading into 2019, and this definitely isn't a scenario most fans would like to see come true.

2 Can't Wait To See: The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels

via thesportster.com

Shawn Michaels may no longer have his iconic long and luscious hair, but after his performance during the DX versus Brothers Of Destruction match at Crown Jewel, Shawn proved that he's still very much the HBK of old. While Shawn is rumored to have a few dream matches in the near future against the likes of AJ Styles, the reported scenario which is likely set in stone right now is Shawn's impending WrestleMania 35 match-up against The Undertaker. This will probably be both Superstars' final match.

Shawn's and 'Taker's storied rivalry isn't over by a long shot, and it can be guaranteed that their ongoing feud will be one of the highlighted WWE storylines in 2019 leading up to 'Mania. Now it's unlikely that Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker will ever be able to match their infamous bouts at WrestleMania XXV and XXVI respectively, but there's a good chance Shawn will be able to carry "The Phenom" to a half-decent match. The perfect send-off for both legends.

1 Nobody Wants: The Rock Returns For WrestleMania Match Against Bobby Lashley

via complex.com

Bobby Lashley is definitely in the running for a recent hyped and anticipated WWE return that flopped the hardest, because Lashley has become a complete and utter afterthought in the grand scheme of things on Monday Night Raw. Bobby's return has been very underwhelming and unimportant. However, despite the fact that Lashley couldn't be any more irrelevant and detested by fans, there is current talk backstage in WWE regarding a possible WrestleMania 35 match between Lashley and The Rock. Can you believe it?

Now that Roman Reigns versus The Rock is off the cards, Vince McMahon has been frantically thinking of a "suitable" replacement for Reigns, and as of right now, the reported scenario is Bobby Lashley feuding with "The Brahma Bull." Had Lashley been booked better following his return with a decent mouthpiece (perhaps Paul Heyman), who knows, a feud with The Rock could've sounded far more appealing than it does right now.
