20 Want To See: Becky Lynch  Ronda Rousey Mega Matchup

via wrestleyard.com

Move over Charlotte. It seems like there’s a new must see Women’s matchup and it isn’t Rousey versus Flair. Picking up all of this new steam in the recent months, it seems as though Lynch is not only growing to massive stardom with the fans but behind the scenes, McMahon is just as high on the talent.

This might mean a switch of matches come WrestleMania. This would be a wise decision especially given Lynch’s current draw value. At the moment, this seems like a possible scenario for 2019 and one the fans can get onboard with pretty easily. The crowd reaction alone would sell this match.

19 Want To See: Kenny Omega At The Royal Rumble

via twitter.com

Another year, another Kenny Omega at the Royal Rumble rumor. It seems like the last two years, this is becoming a bit of a habit among pro wrestling fans. With Omega’s contract set to expire in January; this usually leads to fans linking Kenny to the WWE. Of course, we all know which PPV takes place in January, the Rumble.

The speculation is going to continue this year. However, given the new ownership taking over in New Japan, Omega’s possible future with the WWE is higher than ever. With Roman Reigns on the sidelines and the FOX deal looming, perhaps WWE makes an aggressive offer to get the New Japan talent.

18 Forget About: nWo Taking Part In Storylines

via orlandoweekly.com

With WWE Evolution and Crown Jewel, we’ve had a fair share of returns in the recent months. This hasn’t stopped the rumors of more returns taking place. According to the recent speculation, Hulk Hogan is set for a return at the Crown Jewel event. This is likely to spill over following the Network special. A rumored scenario is Hogan returning alongside the nWo. Although this is a great idea for the Hall of Fame and nostalgia purposes, it just shouldn’t be a return built into storyline.

Have them return for the HOF and nothing storyline or in-ring related. Seeing any of the men back in the ring wouldn’t be the wisest idea at this stage of their careers.

17 Want To See: AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels

via wwe.com

We can hear the WWE Universe with a big time, YES! This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime type of ordeals similar to The Rock and Hulk Hogan or John Cena and The Rock. This type of match needs to happen especially with Shawn’s decision to make a comeback inside of the squared circle.

It might be a little drastic to have HBK win the Royal Rumble and challenge Styles. At this point, Shawn doesn’t need to win a Rumble. This type of storyline would sell itself. If HBK does extend all the way to WrestleMania, most fans are hoping such a match takes place and a storyline emerges.

16 Want To See: The Miz Versus Daniel Bryan For The WWE Championship

via wwe.com

A match as big as Shawn versus AJ doesn’t need a WWE Championship to tell their story. It is simply a match featuring the best of now for the best of the past. Adding the title to The Miz and Bryan storyline can be a brilliant way to prolong their lengthy feud.

Let’s say Miz wins the title in the next couple of months. Just imagine Bryan trying to win it back for the first time since his hiatus but the only person standing in his way is The Miz, his long-time foe? Now that can be a great storyline and a brilliant way to finally end their lengthy feud, at the Grandest Stage of them All, WrestleMania with the WWE Title on the line.

15 Forget About: Kurt Angle Versus Brock Lesnar

via cagesideseats.com

Have we turned back the clock to the early 2000s? Perhaps, because in 2019, this is once again a rumored matchup. Ironically, the last time we saw this bout on the grand Stage was in fact, WrestleMania XIX. Pretty eerie, right?

The two teased a program during Kurt Angle’s run as the Raw GM. Some speculate this feud to continue heading into 2019. This wouldn’t be the correct option. Angle needs to face opponents we’ve never seen before such as Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Finn Balor. As for Brock, if he is to appear at the event, it would be best for business to have him face off with a younger talent that can get a boost out of storyline with Brock. Angle isn’t that person.

14 Want To See: The Young Bucks' Invasion

via wrestlinginc.com

“Contract season is coming up, we’ll see what happens. It’s for our families, that’s basically what I think it comes down to at this point.”  - The Young Bucks

Like Kenny Omega earlier in the article, the Bucks have a big decision to make come the end of their contract with New Japan in just a couple of months. Lots of WWE stars have been campaigning for their WWE debuts and that includes the legend himself, HBK.

Of course, such a debut would shock the WWE landscape. It would also help immensely in rebuilding the WWE’s tag team scene, especially over on Raw.

13 Want To See: Triple H and Batista Program

via thecomeback.com

Even before Batista made his return to the WWE, he let his feeling be known. The Animal wants a match with Triple H and it seems as though the WWE might be obliging to the match request, finally.

The two teased the possible match during the 1000th episode of SmackDown. Given the crowd reaction to not only Batista but the heat between these two, perhaps WWE is now a lot more serious about booking the encounter. It is very possible that we see Batista return to WWE storyline in 2019. A Hall Of Fame induction is another possibility.

12 Forget About: Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey

via wwe.com

Since Ronda Rousey's debut, her dream WrestleMania match continues to shift. Initially, Asuka was considered as the ideal opponent. That all changed once Charlotte Flair finally ended her undefeated streak. That put Charlotte in the spotlight as the new ideal rival for Rousey heading into the following WrestleMania.

However, once again, the tide has turned. Given Becky’s recent success, the SmackDown Women’s Champion seems like the best option for Rousey. Picture the fan reaction such a match would generate. It might be best to forget about Charlotte and Rousey, at least for 2019.

11 Want To See: Asuka Gets A Push

via voxcatch.com

How to make Asuka great again? This should be the burning question for WWE heading into 2019. An ideal scenario would be Asuka getting a rematch against Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania.

Let’s say Lynch finally drops the belt to Charlotte and rivals Rousey over on Raw, this leaves Charlotte without a WrestleMania match. How great would it be to see Asuka turn heel on Charlotte and challenge her again for the title a year later? All of her recent struggles can be forgotten if she dethrones Flair a year later and finally captures the Women’s Championship.

10 Want To See: Undisputed Era Invasion

via wrestlinginc.com

With all the recent injuries, Raw needs some serious help, especially on the heel side of things. With rumored NXT call ups to take place post-Survivor Series, the Undisputed Era might be the best option, as it would feature four massive heels all capable of holding their own. It would be a debut similar to The Radicalz back in the day, given their talents inside of the squared circle.

The team’s debut can extend into 2019. It can be a great way for a new heel faction to dominate Raw. It can also give Adam Cole a huge push. Something that he truly deserves given his talent level.

9 Forget About: Shane McMahon WrestleMania Storyline

via stillrealtous.com

Shane McMahon is back on WWE television rejoining SmackDown Live. However, that doesn’t mean WWE plans on getting rid of Paige. The company is content with her role on the Tuesday show. Thus, a lot of fans are starting to speculate that WWE has another storyline for Shane come WrestleMania season. Given his performance last year, it might be best to have Shane on the sidelines this time around.

We all love Shane; however, it might be best to step out of the ring for the time-being. The WrestleMania card is a precious one and others can use that spot instead. Matches with The Undertaker, AJ Styles and teaming with Daniel Bryan last year might be enough. It's time to end Shane’s WrestleMania run. Though, that’s unlikely given his status with the company.

8 Want To See: Elias Makes Push Towards Intercontinental Championship

via wwe.com

Since his main roster debut, Elias exceeded a lot of expectations. He wasn’t the same kind of performer with NXT. Though clearly, that has all changed since his main roster call up. Due to his infamous guitar solos, Elias has turned into one of the most over acts in the entire company. We can expect that to ramp up with his recent babyface persona change.

The hope is that his popularity and babyface run leads to an Intercontinental Championship pursuit during 2019. Given his recent work, the wrestler deserves the title. It would be quite the WrestleMania moment to see Elias crowned as the new IC Championship in 2019. Make it happen, Vince.

7 Want To See: Drew McIntyre and Strowman

via catch-newz.com

Finding a suitable opponent for Strowman isn’t the easiest. He’s a mammoth wrestler that needs to take on an opponent with a similar stature. In the recent months, it appears as though that rival might be Drew McIntyre. Fans are hoping WWE goes for a slow build with these two – eventually ending the rivalry with a big time matchup at WrestleMania.

There is the possibility of these two slugging it out for the Universal Title, especially if Braun beats Brock Lesnar. However, given their lengthy turmoil, such a bout doesn’t even need a championship. We hope to see this storyline extended into 2019.

6 Forget About: Braun Strowman vs. WWE Legend

via givemesport.com

Speaking of Braun Strowman. This particular route wouldn’t be the wisest. We can see the scenario of WWE trying to put Braun over by having him take on a legend. That can be anyone from Goldberg to Kevin Nash. Heck, Hulk Hogan himself said he would love to lock up with Strowman.

The truth is, Braun is passed the point of needing to be pushed by the old guard. Matches against the likes of Goldberg or Nash would be decent for nostalgia purposes, however, in terms of match quality, the company is better off extending the McIntyre program. Especially if the Vince’s trying to elevate Drew.

5 Want To See: Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose Continues

via wrestleyard.com

Speaking of feuds that need to continue, this one has truly just begun. The WWE started things off in the right direction with a surprising Dean Ambrose turn. In order for Dean to get that extra heat, the drama of it all just added to his new, villainous persona.

If done correctly, such a rivalry can extend all the way until WrestleMania. In fact, at the go-home show for WrestleMania the two are currently advertised for a match against one another, which might be a forecast to the future. It would be a great way to end the rivalry after several months. There can also be a stipulation added to the ending of their long-term turmoil at ‘Mania.

4 Forget About: Bray Wyatt's New Gimmick

via pinterest.com

Bray Wyatt hasn’t been on television since the departure of Matt Hardy. There’s a reason for it as WWE continues to contemplate on what to do next with the “Eater of Worlds.”

What isn’t the wisest decision is changing Bray’s gimmick entirely. This seems to be one of the current ongoing rumors. In truth, this isn’t necessary, as Wyatt’s gimmick is over as is. However, what might spark the former WWE Champion in the right direction is a return with his former stablemates, The Wyatt Family. This can be great TV to see the trio reunite while taking on the likes of Sanity over on SmackDown Live.

3 Want To See: The Rock and Shawn Michaels For The First Time

via givemesport.com

Some dream matches never take place because of the timing. Shawn Michaels and The Rock seems to be one of those. However, with Shawn stepping back in the ring and with Dwayne expressing interest in making a return for WrestleMania 35, the cards might be in place for this dream encounter to finally happen.

According to the rumor mill, Michaels might be extending his run until WrestleMania. However, it is also believed that he won’t be taking on a full-time talent. If this is true, The Rock would be the opponent everyone wants to see. Just think of the buzz such a matchwould create?

2 Forget About: Repeat Royal Rumble Winner

via youtube.com

The rumor mill suggests Vince is leaning towards a repeat winner for next year’s Royal Rumble. That means, it might be an older wrestler to win it all. The biggest favorites are both The Undertaker and John Cena. Rey Mysterio is another former winner. A drastic scenario would see Shawn Michaels or The Rock win it all.

Instead of taking that road, WWE needs to enhance the resumes of their full-time talent. Long-term, it would be a much better idea to have the Rumble winner be a current talent. Options include Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Elias, Bobby Lashley, Daniel Bryan, and Samoa Joe.

1 Want To See: John Cena Retires The Undertaker

via sbnation.com

This might be it for The Undertaker. With WrestleMania looming, rumors are once again starting to circulate pertaining to The Deadman's retirement match at the show. The Hall of Fame is another possibility.

If The Undertaker is to go out, John Cena might be the perfect option especially given the way their match ended last year. It can be the perfect long-term storyline that’s a year in the making. Cena can get his revenge after the embarrassing defeat by finally beating The Phenom and retiring the legend. There isn’t a single wrestler that deserves the honor more than Cena.
