Retribution has run roughshod over the WWE roster for weeks. Besides a few masked men in the group, there are a couple of females as well, and Mia Yim, a former NXT star, is one of the females in the group. However, her name in the group isn't Mia Yim, it's Reckoning.
Reckoning and some other Retribution members unveiled themselves recently on RAW. Yim was the one to cut an outstanding promo for the stable, and it looked like she could play an essential role in the success of Retribution. Additionally, she should be an excellent addition to the RAW women's division.
10 She Was A Volleyball Athlete
Mia Yim was an athlete from a young age, and she played various sports, most notably volleyball. While she tried her hands at taekwondo and football as a hobby, she was very serious about volleyball in both high school and college.
Playing for her school, Mia Yim played volleyball till her senior year at Marymount University. She even played club level volleyball to hone her skills. As a matter of fact, she got her college admission due to a scholarship in volleyball.
9 Mia Yim Competed In Mae Young Classic
Before Mia Yim was a full-time WWE Superstar, she participated in the very first Mae Young Classic tournament back in 2017. Yim beat Sarah Logan in the first round of the tournament, but Shayna Baszler vanquished her in the second round.
Yim came back and took part in the second edition of the Mae Young Classic. First, she overcame Allysin Kay, but she made a statement by defeating the former Divas Champion, Kaitlyn, in the second round. Finally, Toni Storm was the one to stop the current Retribution member in the quarterfinals.
8 Mia Yim Has Been Wrestling For 11 Years
Mia Yim might be 31-years-old, but she has experience of 11 years in the wrestling ring. When she was pursuing her college degree, Yim started her training to be a professional wrestler. She made her official wrestling debut in 2009 for an independent promotion.
With years of experience in the squared circle, she signed for NXT in 2018. Therefore, Yim had almost a decade of experience when she had arrived in the developmental brand.
7 Her Father Was In The FBI
In an interview with WWE, Mia Yim mentioned that Yim was brought up in a strict family, and her father was an austere man. Yim's father was first in the military and then, he was also part of the FBI.
As her dad was in the FBI, Yim was coerced to keep his profession confidential while growing up. Her family also moved to different places because of her father's job.
6 Mia Yim Holds An IT Degree
Being from such a strict family, Mia Yim had a discipline from childhood, and she exceeded well academically. Yim, a self proclaimed geek, always took interest in technology. Consequently, she got a college degree in IT.
While residing in Virginia, she got her college degree from Marymount University. Although she got into college with a volleyball scholarship, she proved her worth by graduating with good grades, as she opened up about it in an up-close interview with Lilian Garcia.
5 Mia Yim Wrestled Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair won the NXT Women's Championship by beating Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36. After capturing the gold of the developmental brand, The Queen faced many women of the black-and-gold brand, including Mia Yim on an episode of NXT.
Yim and Charlotte wrestled in a singles match, but the title wasn't on the line.
Yim was impressive and gave Charlotte run for the money, but the former surrendered to a vicious Figure Eight. Meanwhile, it wasn't the only match between Yim and Charlotte, as they also locked horns back in 2014 when Yim was an enhancement talent.
4 Mia Yim Is Dating Keith Lee
It's not new to see a professional wrestler dating another professional wrestler, considering the time they spend together on the road. From Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan to Charlotte Flair and Andrade, there are numerous such instances.
Likewise, Mia Yim has been dating fellow RAW Superstar, Keith Lee. With Retribution being drafted to the red brand, they are both a part of the flagship show.

Prior to having fame with WWE, Mia Yim attained an incredible feat, not in her wrestling career but in general. Mia Yim got a place among the 100 most influential women by BBC in 2016.
Referring as her real name, Stephanie Hym Bell, BBC described her as a professional wrestler from America. At the age of just 27, it was certainly a huge honor for The Retribution member.
2 Shelton Benjamin Is Her Good Friend
Shelton Benjamin, The Hurt Business member, has been on a roll with his new stable. Benjamin's group is having a feud with Mia Yim's Retribution, and the rivalry has been nothing short of spectacular.
However, behind the scenes, Benjamin is one of the closest friends of Mia Yim, starting their friendship in 2011 when Yim was in the indies. He also helped Yim while the latter was going through a dreadful period of domestic violence. Today, the two Superstars share a great bonding, and they can be seen making fun of each other on social media platforms.
1 She Was A Former TNA Knockout Champion
Mia Yim had an impressive stint in TNA, as she signed for the company in 2015. Under the ring name Jade, she was part of the popular female faction, The Dollhouse, which also consisted of Marti Bell and Taryn Terrell.
Yim also flourished as a singles star because she won the TNA Knockout Championship in 2016. After a run of 87 days, Yim lost the belt to Sienna.
