Rey Mysterio made a shocking and unexpected return to the WWE at Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view as the 27th entry. The Master of the 619 eliminated Adam Cole and lasted 9:39 before being eliminated by Finn Balor.

However, reports suggest that Mysterio isn't set to return to the WWE, as they would want to bring him back full-time. The former World Heavyweight Champion has maintained that he only wants to wrestle part time, and has been working as a free agent over the past year.

While fans wait to see if Mysterio has one more WWE run in him, The Biggest Little Man teased about facing one of the company's major stars in a future match:

Actually, the two superstars did face off two years ago at a 5 Star Wrestling match in the UJ, in which The Phenomenal One emerged victorious:

Mysterio and Styles are among the most exciting and thrilling wrestlers of this generation. Both men move quickly in the ring and display tremendous athleticism and maneuvers. You have to think Vince McMahon would happily let this match take place, should Mysterio commit to a full-time return in the future.

But during an interview with ESPN in December, Mysterio did say although he'd like to have one more run in the WWE, he's happy performing as an "independent contractor." Mysterio is married and has two children, so it's easy to understand why he doesn't want to commit full-time, given that he's been on the road 24/7 for the better part of the last two decades.

Of course, Vince has had no problem bringing back past superstars for another run. The Hardy Boyz, Rhyno and Shelton Benjamin and Brock Lesnar are among these wrestlers. If the opportunity presents itself for Mysterio to come back for another run, then it will happen.

And if it does, hopefully we see a match against Styles.
