Ric Flair's Fiancée Gives Details On The Legend's Status

Ric Flair's fiancée, Wendy Barlow, gives an update on the status of The Nature Boy and details on what has been happening the past few days.

It has been a whirlwind of a week when it comes to news involving The Nature Boy and his hospitalization last weekend. Early reports suggested that Flair's visit to the hospital was simply routine, then more detailed news emerged that Flair's condition was much more serious than first thought. So far, most updates on Ric's condition have come via Melinda Zanoni, the CEO of Legacy Talent who represent Flair, but on Wednesday his fiancée Wendy Barlow spoke out for the first time.

In a Facebook status found by TMZ, Barlow stated she wanted to update her friends and family, but had been unable to talk on the phone these past few days without crying, so took to her Facebook page instead. Barlow described the time since Flair was admitted to hospital as a "nightmare". The sixteen time World Champion was admitted to the hospital by Barlow on Aug. 11, 2017, and is apparently suffering from multiple organ problems. Since his admission, he has been placed in a medically induced coma and also undergone surgery.

Barlow also revealed that the reason she took Ric to the hospital in the first place was because he was suffering from "severe abdominal pain".  Flair' daughter, WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair, also posted about her father via Instagram. The four time Women's Champion referred to her father as a fighter and that all the thoughts and prayers they've received mean the world to them.

Various stories and rumors have been bouncing around since news first filtered through of Ric Flair's admission to hospital on Saturday night. Barlow's Facebook statement is the first real clarification of what is going on with the Nature Boy. As well as revealing how and why she admitted Ric to the hospital in the first place, she also quashed the rumor that the operation Ric underwent was on his colon and described it simply as "another surgery".

The pro wrestling world is hoping more than anything that Flair pulls through this tough time and it's evident that anyone and everyone in the business, from the Superstars to the fans, are thinking about him and his family right now. At the time of typing this, Naitch remains in a critical condition, but here's hoping that condition improves going into the weekend and we have some better news for you regarding The Nature Boy over the coming few days.
