Ric Flair In Medically Induced Coma

UPDATE 2: Flair is now out of surgery, but there is no word on how it went, though TMZ reports his family is with him as they wait to speak with the doctors.

UPDATE: Ric Flair will undergo surgery "momentarily" according to TMZ.

Ric Flair's condition might be worse than originally thought according to a recent report.

Following a trip to the hospital that Flair's representatives originally called routine, the story quickly developed into something much more serious. Flair's reps updated fans revealing his condition was not good, tweeting "we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues."  This was also backed up by WWE Hall of Famer Michael PS Hayes, who visited Flair, saying he did not look good.

Now, Fightful.com owner Jimmy Van reports that Flair is in a medically induced coma. There's still no word on what exactly happened to the two-time WWE Hall of Famer, but many believe it could have something to do with his heart. Flair admitted in his autobiography, Ric Flair: To Be The Man, that excessive use of alcohol lead to heart-related issues, so one can see where the link came from, but in terms of an official word, there hasn't been one.

In the wrestling world, it's hard to think of a name more beloved than Ric Flair. The 16-time world champion's career spans decades, making him one of the most recognizable names in the industry. As one of the most decorated wrestlers in the business, Flair has worked with some of the biggest names from every generation and has countless classics to his resume.

Aside from that, Flair's legacy extends past him with his daughter Charlotte being one of the Four Horsewomen of the WWE. Throughout her time in NXT and the main roster, Charlotte has put on classic bouts with the likes of Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Becky Lynch. She even enjoyed a brief stint with Ric managing her, showing her how to be the new dirtiest player in the game. Currently, she is on tour in China as the WWE plans the launch of the network in that region.

Hopefully, Ric Flair can pull through. The news of his hospitalization came out of nowhere, especially since he made an appearance welcoming fans to the 2017 PGA tour, looking relatively healthy.
