Rich Swann has announced that even though he has received a lot of bookings since leaving WWE he will soon be retiring from in-ring competition.

Former WWE Superstar Rich Swann has had a pretty turbulent time over the last few months. It began when the former Cruiserweight Champion was arrested for assault and kidnapping. Swann was accused of being involved in an altercation with his wife while they were driving which involved him allegedly forcing her back into the car after she tried to run away.

As is the case with any arrests and accusations like these, WWE suspended Swann pending the result of the investigation. A little while later news broke that all charges against Swann had been dropped and fans expected him to return to 205 Live. That day never came through and instead, WWE released a statement declaring that they and Swann had parted ways.

As many are proving to be the case now more than ever, being let go by WWE does not have to signal the end of your wrestling career. Swann revealed on Twitter this week that he has received a lot of bookings since the news broke that he was no longer a WWE Superstar, thanking them for taking a chance on his name and although he is scared to step back into the ring he can't wait.

The other part of Swann's tweet was the surprising bit. While he has accepted a lot of independent bookings the former 205 Live star announced that once they're done he will be retiring from the business. In another tweet a few hours later, he reiterated that he can't wait to get back in the ring and also said: "damn I lost the dream job."

It can be a tricky situation when a WWE Superstar is arrested and suspended, even if the charges against them are dropped. If Swann were to return to WWE one day, he wouldn't be the only one on the roster who has been arrested in the past. Never say never when it comes to wrestling, and if he has missed wrestling as much as he's claiming after only a few months then it's hard to imagine he will be able to tear himself away for good.
