WWE announced its plans to move NXT to Wednesday night broadcasts under USA Network in order to compete with the rival AEW promotion.

AEW will begin airing its weekly Wednesday night program on Oct. 2, two days before SmackDown Live moves to Friday nights under Fox Sports. With WWE countering AEW's big move, a "Wednesday Night War" has begun, where the two promotions will battle for television ratings.

Obviously, the competition puts a lot of pressure on Vince McMahon and WWE. It's been 18 years since he bought out the rival WCW promotion, which ended the "Monday Night Wars." TNA tried going to battle with WWE, but they never stood a chance - even after bringing aboard wrestling legends like Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash, among others.

But multiple WWE superstars are welcoming the idea of competition from AEW, including Seth Rollins. You can add Ricochet to that list, as he explained in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated why he's embracing the competition with AEW.

"That just inspires everyone, including myself, to do better. It’s good for the business. I’ve got a lot of friends over there that are making a living off this. That’s good. It’s pushing us to be better, and that’s good, too.

We already want to be the best, and now we want to be even better. We have the best wrestlers in NXT and on Raw and SmackDown, so now we can show the world again that we are the best talent in the world."

Ricochet certainly makes a strong point as to how AEW has forced WWE to be better. Vince McMahon hired Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff to take over as t he new Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown, respectively. The WWE chairman knew that changes were needed for his product, and WWE has began handing out big pushes to new superstars - including Ricochet, Sasha Banks and Erick Rowan, among others.

WCW forced Vince to adapt when the Monday Night Wars took off in the '90s, which led to him launching The Attitude Era. This included handing out major pushes to the likes of The Rock, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Triple H. Without a doubt, AEW will force the WWE chairman to make his overall product that much better over time.

How Will AEW Impact WWE Superstars?

With AEW on the rise in short time, WWE superstars have to give it their everything now. Vince has been handing out more lucrative long-term deals in order to keep his superstars. If they put the work in, they will be rewarded. There is no room to slack for anybody inside WWE. Not with a new wrestling war begining.
