"Rowdy" Roddy Piper will forever be a legend in the wrestling world. The highlight of his career was his time with the WWE, in which he main evented the first-ever WrestleMania. The Hot Rod always spoke his mind and wasn't afraid to confront people he had a problem with.

This resulted in him making many an enemy backstage, however, his straight forward attitude also adhered him to many wrestlers within the locker room who he remained friends with for years.

10 Loved: Dusty Rhodes

Piper and Rhodes are two of the greatest promos in wrestling history. So it was only natural that the two got along with one another. After Dusty's sad passing, Piper declared him a "national treasure."

He was also very emotional about his death and reminisced about the good times they had together and the funny stories they shared. Piper loved Rhodes like a brother and was full of admiration for The American Dream.

9 Hated: Hulk Hogan

Many a wrestler did not like Hulk Hogan due to his backstage politics and how he'd influence decision-making in matches. Piper and Hogan had an ever-present feud with one another during Hogan's time at the top.

However, Piper was frustrated with Hogan's backstage antics and felt like he deserved more respect for his part in their feud. Piper, during the final years of his life, admitted he had huge respect for Hogan and they had made up.

8 Loved: Andre The Giant

The two made brilliant rivals in the ring, however, both men loved each other outside of it. Piper has shared many a story of the two's time together as well as how much fun they had in the ring.

The two hazed each other many times backstage as that was the norm back in the '80s. However, clearly, the two respected the hell out of each other otherwise they wouldn't have worked together so much over many promotions.

7 Hated: Mr. T

Technically, Mr. T was a WWE wrestler for a short period of time. It was also clear as day that Piper despised The A-Team star. The animosity stemmed from Piper who felt Mr. T didn't deserve to main event WrestleMania.

Also, Piper felt Mr. T didn't put enough effort in preparation for the match, so he put him in legit wrestling holds. This resulted in the two having a boxing match at the following Mania, which was pitiful.

6 Loved: Ronda Rousey

Roddy Piper was the wrestler who Ronda Rousey admired most. The two became close friends and when Rousey debuted in WWE, she sported Piper's iconic ring gear. They became friends as they were both trained by the same person.

They had a relationship akin to a father and daughter. Piper gave Ronda permission to use his gear and the "Rowdy" nickname during her time in UFC. The same went for carrying on his legacy during her run in WWE.

5 Hated: Stone Cold Steve Austin

Piper and Stone Cold rarely met each other inside a WWE ring. However, the two did have real-life beef outside the squared circle. Piper was released from his WWE Legends deal and his podcast was canceled over it.

This was due to Will Sasso doing an impersonation of Stone Cold which the Rattlesnake didn't like. It is unsure whether Stone Cold played a part in Piper being released, however, that is what The Hot Rod believed.

4 Loved: Cowboy Bob Orton

The father of Randy Orton was always close to Roddy Piper during their time together in WWE. The two had many crazy times together outside of the ring from fighting at bars to leaving their car on train tracks.

Clearly, the two had a wild time with one another which led to them become such close friends. Bob Orton spoke of the respect and love he had for Piper after his passing stating, "Everybody loved him."

3 Hated: Kevin Nash

The beef between these two culminated in WCW, however, both men are fondly remembered for their time in WWE. At Slamboree 1997, Piper and Nash disagreed about how the match and finish should play out with Piper not following what was supposed to happen.

That resulted in the two having a legitimate fight backstage. Over the years, both men claimed that they were ultimately the winner but nothing was ever confirmed.

2 Loved: Ric Flair

After Piper's passing, Ric Flair stated that "the world won't be the same," highlighting how much love he had for the Hot Rod. The two men were best friends during their time together in the wrestling business and beyond.

So much so, that the two had one last Tag Team Title run during the twilight of their careers. Flair also admitted that he cried for days after Piper's passing due to the close bond they had.

1 Hated: David Schultz

Schultz always had a vendetta against Piper because he felt like he didn't deserve the top spot in the company against Hogan. He claimed Piper couldn't wrestle and wasn't a tough guy. Cleary Schultz is very bitter and jealous of Piper being a bigger success than himself.

Schultz was also close friends with Hogan, who Piper didn't like at the time. Therefore, the two already had existing animosity towards each other. Simply put, Piper didn't like Schultz because he was a bitter, aggressive person.
