ROH Confirms Omega vs Cody Will Happen

It's official! Kenny Omega will take on Cody the night before WrestleMania 34 at Ring Of Honor's Supercard Of Honor XII.

The self-destruction of the Bullet Club has been being teased since the summer. The famous faction is led by Kenny Omega but ever since the addition of Cody to their ranks the two big personalities have been butting heads. It began when The American Nightmare attempted to throw in the towel for Omega during his IWGP Heavyweight Title match against Kazuchika Okada followed by The Cleaner trying to make Cody's wife Brandi Rhodes do the same in return.

Things between the two of them looked as if they were on the cusp of exploding at New Year Dash when Omega stopped Cody from attacking Kota Ibushi, and at New Beginning the animosity finally boiled over. The two of them argued following a match that saw Omega lose the IWGP United States Championship which resulted in The Cleaner being hit with the Cross Rhodes. Ibushi emerged to stop things from getting even worse.

As is evident, this match has been being built to for a while now, and following the attack at New Beginning, the match has been made official. Cody and Kenny Omega will go one on one for the first time ever at Ring Of Honor's Supercard Of Honor XII. The event takes place on April 7, 2018, in New Orleans, the night before WrestleMania 34.

Cody and Omega may have made their feelings about one another abundantly clear, but what about the rest of the Bullet Club? It leaves the likes of The Young Bucks and Marty Scurll in a rather awkward position where they may have to end up choosing sides. They will all likely be hoping that the two of them get their dislike of each other out of their systems at Supercard Of Honor so that the faction can continue on as normal.

What's also notable about this match announcement is the date of course. It may be the night before WrestleMania but that doesn't mean it isn't a statement of intent by ROH. NXT TakeOver will be taking place that night in the very same city, and many fans will likely opt to see a first time ever match between Cody and Omega rather than taking in the show being staged by WWE.
