WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt were scheduled for two hyped-up bouts at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view event this Sunday. Reigns was reunited with The Shield, and they were scheduled to face The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Kane, and Braun Strowman in a five-on-three TLC match. As for Wyatt, he was to face Finn Balor in a singles match.
However, WWE.com announced on Friday that both men were pulled from the event. Kurt Angle was surprisingly declared the fill-in for Roman Reigns, while AJ Styles will replace Wyatt as Balor's opponent.
The reason? Andrew Ravens from eWrestlingNews.com reported that WWE informed ESPN of the following:
“We have confirmed that three of our performers have been diagnosed with a viral infection. As a precautionary measure, we are ensuring in-ring performers and staff are tested and immunized in accordance with recommended medical guidelines.”
Though it was reported yesterday that both Wyatt and Bo Dallas missed Raw this week because of meningitis, it wasn't known until today that Reigns was also sick. The news that he would not be performing (and was going to be replaced by Angle), definitely left the WWE Universe shocked.

The news is obviously disappointing for many fans, who were looking forward to a reunion with The Shield. Balor and Wyatt had also done a great job building up their feud, so it's disappointing that it won't be rekindled this Sunday.
But the WWE simply has to take care of its superstars and not risk other performers getting ill. This also comes at a bad time for WWE, as Kevin Owens has taken a leave for "personal reasons", while Neville walked out over of Raw, and Nia Jax requested a leave of absence.
Angle and Styles should be nice consolation prizes for fans in their respective matches, however. As long as the matches are somewhat entertaining, then fans probably won't complain too much about Reigns and Wyatt needing to get pulled 48 hours before the show.
