WWE legend and Hollywood mega star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson confirmed in the summer that he is retired from professional wrestling, thus squashing a series of potential dream matches.

The Rock returned to WWE in 2011 and engaged in feuds with CM Punk and John Cena - even headlining two WrestleMania events against the latter. But the program with Cena would mark The Rock's last feud in the WWE, before he went back to the movie industry for good.

The People's Champion may be retired, but that hasn't stopped the oddsmakers from dreaming. According to Skybet (h/t Ringside News), The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is currently listed as the favorite to headline WrestleMania 36 in Tampa Bay, with 10/1 odds.

Following Reigns-Rock, Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is tied for the second-highest odds at 16/1, along with Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor. It's worth noting that Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez is listed at 20/1.

Of course, these are merely betting odds that simply don't indicate what the WrestleMania 36 card will look like. The Rock only confirmed his retirement four months ago, and it's hard to envision him going back on that word in short time.

The belief is that Reigns will actually face The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 for the Universal Championship. It's widely believed that Wyatt will not take a clean loss up until the big show in Tampa Bay, and Reigns is an ideal candidate to defeat The Fiend.

Aside from Reigns vs. Wyatt, the other rumored match is Lesnar against either Tyson Fury or Cain Velasquez (in a Crown Jewel rematch). We'll get a more firm idea as to what the card will look like in the coming weeks, especially after the two Royal Rumble winners are crowned.

Don't Hold Your Breath For Reigns vs. Rock

As epic as a Rock vs. Reigns showdown would be, there's no logical reason to believe it's going to happen. Not only did The Rock retire from wrestling, but he has a busy schedule in Hollywood, so time wouldn't necessarily permit him to come back for WrestleMania. At the end of the day, all we can really do is place this showdown on the long list of dream matches that never happened.
