The Rock facing Roman Reigns has been a dream match that fans have talked about for many years, and both men have recently commented on it becoming a possibility. With Roman recently pushing his family ties in his storyline, now seems like the perfect time for them to potentially have the match.

However, with The Rock not being a full-time talent and seemingly having retired from wrestling, it isn't a guarantee that this match will actually happen. But there's no doubt that a match between them would be of high quality, and seeing two of the biggest names in WWE's history collide just seems like a perfect opportunity.

10 Should Happen: Attention On WWE

The fact is, that The Rock is the biggest name that WWE can call upon at the moment. It doesn't matter what celebrity they brought in, The Rock is always going to have the biggest impact due to his reach in the world of Hollywood.

He's a global icon and putting him into a match just draws many eyes and a huge amount of attention towards WWE. It's something that the company should always want, especially because it would make Roman Reigns an even bigger star in the process.

9 Shouldn't Happen: The Rock's Movie Career

One big reason that this match may not happen is purely down to The Rock's movie career. His career in Hollywood has become his greatest success, and that is a big factor in why his in-ring work has become a thing of the past.

His schedule is often full and it doesn't allow for him to take major bumps because of the risk of long-term injury. This could put a wrench in the works, stopping the match from happening or not allowing it to be as physical as it could be.

8 Should Happen: Suits Roman's Storyline

The Usos and The Rock

Roman Reigns has pushed the family aspect of his life since returning to the company. The Big Dog has claimed he is the head of the family and the man who provides for them all, but what if a much more popular and well-known family member appears in The Rock?

It fits into the storyline perfect and it could really be a special way to wrap up things in terms of this storyline. Seeing them compete with The Rock fighting for the rest of his family against an arrogant heel in Roman is something that would be very compelling. This potential match would likely determine who's the true Tribal Chief.

7 Shouldn't Happen: The Microphone Battles

The Rock returns to WWE in 2011

One of the biggest problems that Roman Reigns has always had is within his promos. It's the reason he was given Paul Heyman as it allows for that flaw to be covered, but in a storyline with The Rock, Roman would really need to do some of the talking.

The issue is that a promo battle between these two men would likely lead to The Rock dominating. Having this happen could really damage Roman's development, at the moment, which might not be the best thing for him.

6 Should Happen: Establish Roman's Heel Gimmick

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has done a great job with his new attitude so far. Changing to be a heel was something that everybody wanted and that is why it has been met with such a positive response so far.

However, to take Roman to a new level he needs to beat an incredibly popular wrestler. Right now, the best option for that is The Rock, who is always going to be very popular, with Roman being able to take his character to new heights against him.

5 Shouldn't Happen: Not A Full-Time Schedule

Roman Reigns

Because of The Rock's schedule, he likely won't be around on a full-time basis in order to build a storyline with Roman Reigns. While he has managed to make that work before with John Cena, it isn't an ideal situation.

Fans want to see wrestlers involved all the way in a storyline, and the fact that The Rock simply cannot do that is quite damaging to the overall story. It would be better for Roman to work with someone who is around all the time in order to keep developing his own character.

4 Should Happen: Giving The Rock A Proper Retirement Match

The Rock is one of the biggest names in the history of wrestling, and the fact he didn't really get a major retirement storyline is a real shame. WWE could make a massive deal out of this match and allow it to be The Rock's send-off, which would certainly be fitting.

Everyone wants to see him get the big finish his career deserves, and this seems like the perfect situation to provide that. Facing a member of his family and passing the torch could be a real moment that establishes Roman and allows The Rock to have the goodbye moment his career deserves.

3 Shouldn't Happen: Give Roman A Classic Rivalry

ROman Reigns

Every all-time great wrestler should have a classic, legendary rivalry to sink their teeth into. These feuds normally span for long periods of time and have multiple matches, which is something that Roman Reigns deserves to have.

A storyline with The Rock probably wouldn't provide that for him due to the fact that it would only be a one-time match and a relatively short story. While they could obviously make it special, it doesn't seem like the best possible program for him right now.

2 Should Happen: Major WrestleMania Main Event

WrestleMania should always be the biggest show of the year, featuring the biggest names possible. A main event match featuring The Rock and Roman Reigns is something that would genuinely fit the bill for that.

It's a massive match that is more than capable of headlining the biggest show of the year, and it really would make sense. With Rock's Hollywood connection and the show being in Los Angeles, it just seems like the right match to main event.

1 Shouldn't Happen: Taking Spots From Other Superstars

Roman Reigns and The Rock

While it is obviously a big match that could really get people talking, there would no doubt be complaints from some about The Rock taking spots from younger talent. This is the case for any legend returning, but especially if it was a major spot on a big PPV like WrestleMania.

The current roster is stacked right now in WWE. The company focusing on younger talents, trying to get them to the main event level really should be a priority. This is why a match between Roman and The Rock may not be the best idea.
