Just a little over a month after making an impressive debut at WrestleMania by teaming up with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Ronda Rousey is already at the top of the women's roster.

Shortly before the latest episode of Raw, WWE showed a video of Nia Jax, Charlotte, and Ronda Rousey hanging out with each other at the NBC Universal Upfront event. While Rousey and Charlotte joked about saying Ric Flair's "Woo" chant, Jax made the conversation much more serious and challenged Rousey at Money in the Bank for her Raw Women's Championship. Rousey accepted, and the match is now official.

While this match feels grossly premature and seemed to appear out of nowhere, there are a few potential reasons why Rousey is getting a title shot so early in her WWE career.

According to the New York Post, announcing it at the NBC Universal event allowed WWE to bring more mainstream attention to their women's revolution movement, specifically to further shine a light on the impact that Rousey has by now being a member of the WWE roster.

Another reason is to possibly further current storylines that both Jax and Rousey are involved in. While it is not expected that this match will have a clean finish, it does have the potential to further angles that both have with other names on the Raw brand, and this match at Money in the Bank can be used for that purpose. Right now, Alexa Bliss is vying to regain the title from Jax, and is using sappy speeches in an attempt to overthrow Jax's anti-bullying campaign. On Raw, Bliss won her match to became a participant in the Money in the Bank match, which adds more leverage to her quest to regain the title.

For Rousey, she is scheduled to face Mickie James during the European tour, and has been there for her friend Natalya when she is in peril as Natalya abruptly became a babyface when she defected over to Raw. The friendship of Rousey and Natalya could very well end up with Natalya turning on Rousey, setting up a marquee match at SummerSlam in August.

In addition to these reasons, it has been reported that WWE is also looking to make Money in the Bank just as important as the traditional "Big Four" WWE pay-per-views — Royal RumbleWrestleManiaSummerSlam, and Survivor Series. With announcing Ronda Rousey competing for the Raw Women's Championship, it certainly adds a significant amount of buzz to the event.
