Ronda Rousey acknowledges that she has a massive amount of pressure on her going into WrestleMania but is more than up to handling it.

There aren't many competitors who have made the entrance that Ronda Rousey has on to the WWE scene. Now more than ever potential WWE Superstars have to work there way up the ladder. Even accomplished performers such as Kevin Owens and Finn Balor had to ply their trade in NXT for a little while before the company put their faith in them and moved them on up to the main roster.

Rousey is different though. In all fairness it would feel pretty weird if WWE made her perform in NXT considering her global name recognition. Instead The Rowdy One has not only been inserted straight onto the Raw roster but her first ever professional wrestling match will be on The Grandest Stage Of Them All at WrestleMania. As if that wasn't big enough she will be teaming with a WWE Hall of Famer and going up against two members of the family that owns WWE.

WWE is putting an awful lot of faith in Rousey and clearly they believe that it will pay off. There is also a crazy amount of pressure on the former UFC star. She has never done this before and will have her first go at it live in front of millions of people watching around the world. Rousey told The Kingston Whig-Standard that she is more than up to the pressure though.

'It's a lot of pressure and probably a crazy and unrealistic amount of pressure to put on someone for their first match ever', Rousey admitted, 'but you know what, if anyone in the world can handle it, I believe it can be me'. It's a statement that's hard to argue with. Rousey is hardly someone who doesn't know what pressure feels like having been a champion in UFC and also competed at the Olympics before that.

Whether WWE's faith in Rousey pays off and if she can thrive under the pressure remains to be seen. If her first match at WrestleMania is a flop or not though she likely won't be going anywhere for a while. The latest edition to the Raw roster has already been advertised as far ahead as Survivor Series so if she hasn't honed her craft by April 8th, she will have plenty more time to do so afterwards.
