Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut after Asuka won the very first 30-women Royal Rumble on Sunday. It was later reported by ESPN that Rousey has signed a full-time contract with the WWE. Up next: Who, when and where will her first match take place?
But with his extremely busy schedule in Hollywood, The Rock is never a guarantee to appear at WrestleMania. PW Insider (h/t Cageside Seats), believes that if Rock isn’t able to compete at this year’s event, Braun Strowman could be Rousey’s partner instead.
The Monster Among Men hinted at a feud in the future with Triple H back at Survivor Series. After Team Raw won the match, Strowman angrily grabbed Triple H and threatened him for eliminating captain Kurt Angle earlier in the bout. Strowman then bodyslammed The Game twice before leaving the arena.
Strowman began receiving a major push last year, squashing most of his opponents to reach the top of the card. On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, he easily defeated Kane in a Last Man Standing match – flipping the announce table over on the Big Red Machine – who had to be taken out by paramedics. That likely ends their feud, so Strowman will have to find a new opponent in the near future.
WrestleMania 34 is just two months away, so the creative team will find out soon what The Rock’s plans are. Once that is settled, we won’t have to wait long in finding who Rousey will team up with in her very first WWE match. The Rock and Strowman seem like great choices, though the latter would obviously by preferred for the WWE Universe.
