Paige and her companions were given a name on Raw, now their SmackDown Live equivalents also have a collective name they refer to themselves as.

Survivor Series may have been and gone, but as of right now it still feels like Raw and SmackDown Live are very much under siege. Instead of by each other though it’s by Paige and five female Superstars who have been called up from NXT. Paige, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose have been raiding Raw’s women’s division while Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan have been doing the same on Tuesday nights.

On Monday night, Paige announced to the WWE Universe that her new faction had a name, Absolution. Well with this storyline it seems that anything Raw can do SmackDown Live can do too. With that in mind, Ruby Riot took the lead before her faction’s debut match this week and declared that her trio will be known as The Riot Squad. Pretty apt considering Ruby seems to be the threesome’s self-appointed leader.

Directly after they were given a name The Riot Squad had their first ever match together. The three former NXT stars had to take on three of the women they attacked last Tuesday night, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Naomi. A pretty tough trio to face off against in legitimate competition. Trouble is they didn’t remain a trio for long. Nattie didn’t fancy even the briefest of truces with Flair and quickly left her and Naomi to fend for themselves.

Things went from bad to worse for Charlotte and Naomi as the match eventually became a three on one. Riot made the Women’s Champion watch as her partners dismantled Naomi outside the ring with the help of the steel steps. The odds were truly stacked against Flair at that point and despite her best efforts she couldn’t pick up the win.

So, an impressive first two shows for the now named Riot Squad. The trio seems to have taken a slightly different approach to Absolution though. Rather than backstage attacks The Riot Squad had a legitimate match up and dispatched of their opponents that way. Nevertheless, two weeks down and both of WWE’s newest factions look extremely strong.
