With one champion already slotted for a match at Survivor Series, it appears the Universal Champion may have an opponent as well.

During Friday’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Daniel Bryan played a significant role, none bigger than being earmarked the next likely opponent for Universal Champion Bray Wyatt. While Bryan was hearing a pitch backstage by Sami Zayn to join his crew — a crew that consists of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura — the potential for Bryan to either join or battle Zayn took a serious left turn as The Fiend appeared out of nowhere to apply the mandible claw.

While WWE hasn’t announced it, speculation is that Bryan will undoubtedly take issue with the attack and challenge The Fiend at Survivor Series in two weeks.

This won’t be the first time Wyatt and Bryan have battled and perhaps that’s why the champion came after Bryan instead of the challenger seeking out the champ. The Fiend tends to take aim at Superstars he has a history with and while Wyatt may have forgiven Bryan for their past differences, The Fiend might not be as forgiving.

This new potential storyline will also likely answer the question about whether or not the “Yes! Movement” is back. Bryan will clearly be the babyface in this feud and need every inch of the fan support to overcome the most dominant star in the company right now. If The Fiend can do what he did to Rollins, logic dictates Bryan will have his hands full.

Wise Choice By WWE

If this is the direction WWE chooses to go, it’s a wise decision considering Bryan is invincible in terms of wins and losses. He’s bound to be a fan favorite and bounce back quickly regardless of the outcome. This wasn’t the case for Seth Rollins who saw the fans turn on him when it seemed like Rollins was the chosen one by WWE.

And, with only a couple of weeks before the pay-per-view, a program between Wyatt and Bryan doesn’t require much build.
