John Morrison is reportedly returning to WWE. The next question on everyone's mind is, 'When will he return and where will he go?'

There's no definitive news on what's happening with John Morrison and WWE hasn't even confirmed the signing with an official announcement of any kind. That said, enough people are covering this story that the old saying, 'Where there's smoke, there's fire' certainly applies. So, if we can assume he's coming back and we know it's with WWE, where will he slot and when should fans expect to see him?

Back in July, Morrison informed Impact Wrestling that he would not be returning and had worked his last match at the Slammiversary pay-per-view, losing to new X-Division Champion Rich Swann. Doing the math on that, if we assume he had a 90-Day non-compete in his contract, the expiry of those 90 days would put him at October 7, 2019. This is three days after WWE debuts on Fox.

That said, Impact has been known to be helpful when it comes to contracts and Rhyno recently showed up at an Impact show wearing a mask (an arrangement that was approved by WWE in advance since his non-compete hadn't run out.) Essentially, not only is Impact often flexible with this kind of thing, but they owe WWE.

So, if Morrison is able to show on Fox's debut episode of SmackDown, is this where WWE will put him? The answer to that question can only be done through speculation but SmackDown would make a ton of sense considering the 205 Live crew works with the blue brand and the five-star potential matches would be an attraction.

There is also news that Fox wanted Bray Wyatt and isn't going to get him. Might WWE throw a bone back to the network and say 'here you go. He's not The Fiend, but he's must-watch.'?

For now, fans will just have to tune in to both Raw and SmackDown, perhaps even NXT to see if Morrison pops up on their television screens.
