Rusev has hinted that the storyline currently developing between his wife Lana and Bobby Lashley might not be a storyline after all.

The weird love triangle has certainly left the WWE Universe polarized as it continues to gather pace and, according to Rusev himself, it might be very real.

The Bulgarian performer recently dropped a tweet promoting his appearance on Cameo, prompting a response from a fan who suggested that he was too good to be put through such a storyline.

Rusev, in turn, asked the fan how they were so sure it wasn't a storyline, basically claiming that the relationship between Lashley and his wife isn't kayfabe.

Of course, we know better - at least we'd like to think so. But we can safely declare that it's nothing more than a storyline. Rusev is only doing his part to sell the story as best he can and was very much in character when he responded to the fan's tweet.

The wrestler had previously commented on how committed he is to the angle, also acknowledging that it's one of the most discussed storylines going around nowadays.

"It's great, I think we are in the best storyline currently going on and the best storyline that's been around for years," he said.

As mentioned above, the story is one that splits the opinion and it appears that some people believe it's real (good job Rusev, Bobby and Lana) - so much so, the woman involved has revealed that she's been the subject of death threats and that the FBI has even gotten involved.

"I've gotten calls from like WWE and the FBI, people actually threatening WWE," she said to ComicBook.com last week. "Having death threats on me and the FBI has had to call me and protect me. And I get death threats on my comments on Instagram, on Twitter. I mean, people are bullies. I mean today I opened my email account and I had this death threat on my email."

The Bottom Line

So yeah, that angle? Totally a storyline. Rusev is simply sticking to it for the time being, even on social media.

It's certainly one of the best WWE has come up with recently but it definitely isn't the weirdest.
