Rusev has let Rusev Day go to his head and for a good reason. Is Rusev Day an ego booster for the Bulgarian Brute or much more?

Rusev has gone from the most despicable foreign heel to come along in a while to a more likeable heel who seems to be heading towards a face turn. His heel run has been successful for the most part. His character has taken a turn for the better with the Rusev Day craze. Although Rusev Day isn't a real day and only exists in kayfabe, Rusev has recently revealed that he actually gets joyous at the whole "Rusev Day" chants and all.

The Indian Express recently interviewed Rusev about the Rusev Day thing. Rusev gives his explanation of it transcending its fictional nature and essentially says that it is a confidence booster. Rusev exclaims : "It's more than a cool catchphrase- it’s a mentality and it’s celebrating yourself every day." Rusev is also playing up to his Rusev Day in his life outside of the ring. The question of Rusev being a heel in the beginning of his career came up and even Rusev acknowledges that he has been put in the position of tweener as he reveals:" “It makes me happy- every time I hear someone say Rusev Day it makes me smile. Prior to this, I was the bad guy, the foreigner."

Let's not forget another obvious addition to the Rusev Day equation, and that equation is Aiden English. English was placed with Rusev after his partner Simon Gotch parted ways with the company. Aiden English has gotten some notoriety by being paired with Rusev. Many might wonder about what Rusev thinks about being paired with Aiden English as he exclaims: “He’s a blessing in disguise. He is so good, so talented- he is on another level. When were put together it was supposed to be a joke but they gave us lemons and we turned into lemonade (laughs).”

While Lana is busy coming along with her wrestling career, Rusev has more momentum now than he has ever gotten in the WWE. Many wrestling enthusiasts have a gut feeling that the Rusev Day wave is not going to slow down anytime soon. The Rusev Day craze is generating all types of merchandise, which is to the benefit of the Rusev gimmick and the WWE. It must be fun to have your own chant everywhere you go as one of the aims of wrestling is to connect with fans. Rusev has been active on Twitter and he has some of the most hilarious tweets when it comes to communicating with fans. He shows a more human side with his interaction with fans through his tweets and it is inevitable that he will claim gold again, possibly as soon as WrestleMania 34.
