Is Rusev On The Verge Of Leaving WWE?

WWE Superstar Rusev can't be happy with his current position in the company, and it might drive him away.

Judging by the last couple of social media posts from Rusev, The Bulgarian Brute may be thinking about leaving WWE very soon.

Rusev hasn't exactly been being booked well for the past few months in WWE. In fact, you could argue that The Bulgarian Brute has been on the descent ever since he lost to John Cena at WrestleMania 31. Up until that point, the former United States Champion was unbeaten in singles competition and it has seemingly been all down hill from there.

It's what WWE has had for him that seems to be the straw that has broken the camel's back though. Earlier this year, Rusev was out with an injury, and while sidelined, he was transferred to SmackDown Live. Before his return, a video message from the Eastern European aired on the show featuring Rusev demanding a title shot at Money in the Bank, or he would leave. Well, that was over two months ago now, and still, no title shot for Ruru.

Since then, Rusev lost to John Cena at Battleground, was embarrassed by Randy Orton at SummerSlam, and just this past Tuesday, took the fall against Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag match. The under utilized Superstar has had enough apparently. A little under a week ago, Rusev tweeted his goodbyes to WWE's front office, and on Tuesday sent out another tweet saying "Okay I'm going home...... goodbye America."

Rusev debuted on the main roster during the 2014 Royal Rumble match. Shortly after the Bulgarian Brute would start appearing alongside his now real life wife, Lana. For over a year, Rusev went undefeated, winning the US title in the process. Following that impressive debut year, WWE has squandered his talents with ideas like The League of Nations and the whole love square between him, Lana, Dolph Ziggler, and Summer Rae.

It would be a real shame to see WWE let Rusev leave the company. The Bulgarian has a lot of untapped potential. Fans seem to have gravitated to him also, ironically since he has cared less and been forward about airing his grievances on social media. If Shinsuke Nakamura is set to become WWE Champion in the coming months, then Rusev would be a perfect adversary for him, so let's hope these latest rumblings are nothing more than Ruru toying with us.
