During a recent wrestling match between two of IMPACT! Wrestling's stars, Sami Callihan ended up accidentally breaking Eddie Edwards' eye socket after hitting him in the face with a baseball bat during a post-match altercation.

IMPACT! posted an exclusive video on Twitter of Callihan hitting Edwards in the face with the bat and it is cringeworthy. Check it out below, at your own risk.

Edwards ended up speaking with TMZ Sports and confirmed that Calliahn was supposed to hit the chair with the bat, not his face. But unfortunately, the chair was moving while he was swinging and he mostly hit Edwards' eye socket.

Aside from a broken orbital bone, Edwards said he also suffered a broken nose.

Callihan did a great job of playing his part and making it look like he was pleased with hitting Edwards, but TMZ mentioned that he “felt terrible about the accident and was very emotional about the situation behind the scenes.”

Wrestle Zone ended up catching up with Callihan on Tuesday and spoke with him about the incident.

While Callihan reportedly felt bad afterwards, he doesn't feel like he did anything wrong and looking back at the incident, doesn't feel bad anymore.

"I’m kind of getting sick of this topic at this point. This is professional wrestling and the fact that this is such an issue boggles my mind. The fact that so many of the boys in the back are so upset. The fact that so many of the fans are upset. They say I need to take responsibility and apologize for my actions. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

"Did Owen Hart apologize to Stone Cold after he broke his neck? Did he go out and say, “I am so sorry for hurting this guy!” Did Bubba Ray Dudley go out on TV and social media and apologize after the first One Night Stand PPV for almost ripping off Tommy Dreamer’s ear with a reckless kendo stick shot? I don’t think so. That’s why this is such a stupid, status quo conversation. Sure, I hit a dude in the face with a baseball bat. You can see in my eyes I’m thinking, “Oh crap, I just hit a dude in the face with a baseball bat,” but I didn’t feel bad about it and I don’t apologize for it."

Callihan made it clear on Twitter that he won't be retiring his baseball bat.

Callihan was asked about his tweet.

"Why would I? This is pro wrestling," he said. "I just landed on a goldmine. I’m about to start selling baseball bats, t-shirts and everything else because I don’t care who I offend at this point. I don’t care who gets all butt hurt. At this point I am going to be me. I am done walking on eggshells. I know what is right, I know what is correct and I know I am about to make a ton of money."

Callihan was asked if he would think about getting rid of his bat if something like this happens again and he made it clear that more than likely he won't, given the fact that his character is dangerous and unsafe.

It's great that Edwards is OK and he can't be mad at Callihan. This kind of stuff happens all the time in wrestling and all they can do is move on and continue to get back into the ring.

The 30 year-old Callihan started his wrestling career in 2006 and has spent time with numerous companies, including WWE, Ring of Honor, New Japan Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Gorilla. He's won the IPW World Heavyweight Championship and the IPW Junior Heavyweight Championship with IMPACT!.
