Samoa Joe may very well be feuding with Roman Reigns for the Universal Title as soon as he returns from his current injury.

There aren't many WWE Superstars in the present day that Vince McMahon, Triple H and the WWE Universe all agree are great. There are some though, and one of the main ones appears to be Samoa Joe. The majority of fans love The Destroyer and think he has long deserved the opportunities he's finally getting, The Game must like him to make him NXT Champion, and the chairman must be a fan to give him a one on one match with Brock Lesnar.

Unfortunately despite Joe only being a Raw Superstar for a little more than a year, his run has been a little stop-start due to injury. The Samoan Submission Machine is currently watching from the sidelines as he works through a foot injury and seems set to miss WrestleMania for the second year in a row. In fact Joe has never wrestled on The Grandest Stage Of Them All at all.

If Joe does miss WrestleMania 34 what he can take solace in is that WWE seem to have big plans for him upon his return. The next events The Destroyer is being advertised for are house shows after WrestleMania and they currently have him working a program with Roman Reigns, plus facing him on an episode of Raw in May. Per Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer that could very well mean another Universal Championship match for Joe.

That does depend on one pretty major factor of course and that is Reigns defeating Lesnar for the title at WrestleMania. At the moment it really does feel like that will be the case but as always with WWE you can never know for certain. The Beast Incarnate may sign a new contract at the eleventh hour and keep the title beyond April 8th. In that instance the proposed rivalry between Reigns and Joe could be a filler one while Lesnar takes his post-Mania break.

Whether the Universal Championship is involved or not what's promising is that WWE seem to still have faith in Joe occupying a top spot. A series of matches with Reigns will be one of the biggest angles on Raw and if The Big Dog doesn't have the title perhaps he and Joe will compete to be the next number one contender to Brock Lesnar.
