Sasha Banks and Charlotte made history when competing in the first-ever Women's Hell in a Cell match in Boston, Massachusetts. While the match itself was strong, the finish would come across as a weak ending to such a historical wrestling moment.
The planned finish called for Charlotte to throw Sasha Banks through a table and then follow up with a Natural Selection for the victory. While the latter occurred, the former did not as the table simply would not break.
Due to the finish, the crowd reaction felt flat and Vince McMahon took notice. According to The Wrestling Observer, McMahon does not in any way blame Charlotte or the changing of the Women's Championship for said reaction.
In fact, Vince McMahon has placed the blame of Sasha Banks. While it is believed that Banks should have kicked out of the pin an altered the finish, the possibility of backstage repercussions surely played a factor in Banks' decision.
All told, Hell in a Cell left fans with a new Women's Champion, the image of Sasha Banks' wedgie, and more heat placed upon "The Boss."
