Sasha Banks has become one of the most important and successful wrestlers for WWE in recent years. Sasha Banks turning heel ended up being the best thing for her career in NXT. The early changes gave her enough time to develop the new persona while the audience started to get used to her in-ring skills.

Summer Rae and Sasha teamed up to form the Beautiful Fierce Females faction looking to take over the NXT Women’s Division. Charlotte Flair joined them as all three ladies worked well together, but the run ended quickly with NXT planning a bigger Charlotte singles push.

WWE calling Sasha Banks up to the main roster came at the same time as Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch when trying to start the Women’s Evolution. Charlotte and Becky paired up with Paige to form PCB, feuding with the Bella Twins and Alicia Fox.

Banks was placed in a third faction with Naomi and Tamina as Team BAD. All three women loved working together and showed a lot of chemistry. Some fans were upset Sasha didn’t get to show her full potential during this version, but she still had a lot of great moments.

7 Hug and Boss Connection

The start of the women’s tag team division saw Bayley and Sasha Banks thriving. Two of the most accomplished women having real chemistry made them the perfect candidates to become the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The Boss 'N' Hug Connection was the name used for their run before their first reign as champions. WWE would book Sasha and Bayley to lose the titles to the IIconics after just a month to end this run prematurely.

6 The Workhorse Of The Raw Women's Division

Sasha Banks was placed outside of the Raw Women’s Championship picture after losing to Alexa Bliss. Other names like Nia Jax, Ronda Rousey, and Mickie James were getting the title matches as Banks moved into a secondary role.

The time teaming with Bayley built up their momentum as a tag team, but Sasha still was doing well in singles action. Even without a huge push, Banks was the workhorse of the Raw Women’s Division. The short program with Ronda Rousey in 2019 showed that she could thrive at the top when given a chance.

5 Returning Heel

The absence of Sasha Banks in WWE following WrestleMania 35 saw her coming back after SummerSlam 2019 as a villain. Banks interrupted Natalya to a huge ovation following months of speculation about her future in WWE or wrestling in general.

Everyone was shocked when Sasha revealed a new hair color and brutally attacked Natalya. Becky Lynch making the save saw Banks beating her down to start their feud. WWE witnessed Sasha becoming a top star once again as the first viable contender to Lynch’s title after she beat Ronda Rousey.

4 The Golden Role Models

The bigger domino to fall from Sasha Banks’ return as a heel was Bayley joining her a few weeks later. Bayley used a steel chair to attack Becky Lynch and unified with Sasha in their respective battles against Becky and Charlotte Flair.

The transition into a dominant heel team allowed Banks and Bayley to grow in their new roles together. Both wrestlers agreed to change their name to The Golden Role Models, and they become a top part of the SmackDown brand for many months until Bayley turned on Sasha.

3 Top Face of the Revolution

WWE started to elevate the women’s matches in 2016 with Charlotte Flair as the Women’s Champion feuding with Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. All three women were placed on the biggest stage at WrestleMania 32 as the unofficial birth of the Women's Evolution on the main roster.

Banks lost that night, but she was the clear fan favorite of the three. WWE booked Sasha as a top face in the brand split when drafting her to Raw. One knock against Banks was that all her Raw Women’s Championship reigns ended without a successful defense, but she still thrived as someone fans loved as proven with her reaction and merchandise sales.

Triple H’s booking of the NXT Women’s Division saw Sasha becoming the top heel who was over enough to dethrone Charlotte Flair. The NXT Women’s Championship reign of Banks made her arguably the hottest star in the industry at the time with classics against Bayley and Becky Lynch. NXT grew thanks to Sasha and a handful of others making it a must-watch product.
