Scott Hall had a tremendous career when looking at the top peaks in the industry, but his low moments were almost just as bad. Stints in the territory system in the ‘80s, to WCW to WWE to TNA and everywhere in between, featured mixed results during his path to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Many of the worst moments from Hall led to embarrassment for the future legend. Hall’s low points ranged from poor creative to weak performances, to his own personal demons haunting him. UPDATE: 2022/09/10 15:30 EST BY Eric Blattberg

For all of his faults, The Bad Guy is still considered to have one of the greatest minds for the business, ever. That doesn't mean everything he did or agreed to be a part of was necessarily a good idea. While wrestling fans will want to remember Razor Ramon forever, there is a good chance a lot of fans will want to forget these moments in Scott Hall's career. Hall's friend Kevin Nash have often said that the only real things in wrestling are the miles and the money. So there's a chance that many of these moments didn't mean much to Hall, but we'll never know now.

13 The Cry-Baby Match

Razor Ramon Vs 123 Kid

Had Razor Ramon lost this match, it might be higher on the list. But instead it kicks off this list. After being betrayed by the 1-2-3 Kid, Razor Ramon and the newest member of The Million Dollar Corporation squared off against each other at In Your House 6: Rage In The Cage. After besting his former little buddy, Razor then had to put a diaper on him. The match of course was good, but the stipulation was completely ridiculous, making it the first and last time the WWE ever tried it.

12 Refusing To Work With Goldust

Goldust Loves Razor

During the early days of Dustin Rhodes' run in WWE, there was nothing quite like the Androgynous One, Goldust. Heading into WrestleMania 12, the going theory booking-wise was to pit The Bad Guy against Goldust for the Intercontinental title.

Hall had claimed that while he had no issue with Dustin, the character of Goldust was making Hall incredibly uncomfortable, and he had refused to work with Dustin at WrestleMania 12. Between the match that Goldust actually had (The Hollywood Backlot Brawl), and just about everyone else on the roster having zero trouble working with Goldie, this refusal just made Hall look bad.

11 The End Of The Streak

Scott Hall Vs Goldberg Stun Gun Match

While he wasn't on the Booking Committee, it is widely understood that Scott Hall had an impeccable mind for the business. That being said, whoever booked the match between Kevin Nash and Goldberg at Starrcade 1998 (it has been debated over the years who was actually in charge) featured a less than stellar ending where Scott Hall out of nowhere leveled Goldberg with a stun gun. It has never been stated that Hall had ever spoken up to point out how bad of an idea this booking was. For Hall's part, things didn't get much better for him afterward when he had to carry Goldberg through a Stungun On A Pole Match, which he had failed miserably.

10 Getting Fired After The Plane Ride From Hell

Scott Hall vs Crash Holly

WWE wrestlers who were on the flight, still talk about the infamous plane ride from hell. Scott Hall didn’t have as crazy of a story as Brock Lesnar, Curt Hennig, Goldust or Michael Hayes, but he ended up losing his job.

The antics of Hall weren’t as rowdy or shocking, as he fell asleep after passing out due to his drug use. WWE released Hall to end his final run in the New World Order. Hall revealed he wanted out as well, and asked if he could be released the next day, much to WWE’s surprise.

9 Losing To The 123 Kid

123 Kid upsets Razor Ramon

One positive instance of Scott Hall getting embarrassed came during his time as Razor Ramon. WWE never had enhancement talents win matches or even come close to upsetting established stars on television.

Sean Waltman scored the biggest upset victory of his career when defeating Razor during an episode of Raw. The name 123 Kid was given to him, as fans rallied behind the new star, making fun of Ramon for suffering such a shocking loss. It is still regarded as one of the most shocking upsets in the business.

8 Feud With Larry Zbyszko

Larry Zbyszko

Scott Hall was loyal to Larry Zbyszko for helping him out earlier in his career when he became a big star. Zbyszko was one of the color commentators for WCW, when Hall and the rest of the New World Order attempted to take over.

Larry's commentary repeatedly saw him calling out Hall specifically to start their feud. Hall had a terrible match with the older Zbyszko and even tried to make him look good. The unselfish act just made Hall come off poorly, struggling against an old commentator.

7 Wrestling In A Sweater In TNA

Scott Hall

TNA tried to give Scott Hall another chance, when he joined the company during the Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff era. Hall was booked to work with his close friends Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman again, with them now known as The Band.

There was a match between Nash and Hall on Impact that featured Hall wrestling in a sweatshirt and sweatpants. The look was embarrassing and showed how out of place he was. Nash eventually reunited with Hall for them to have another tag run together.

6 Throwing The TV Championship In The Trash

Scott Hall

The end of WCW featured many shameful moments for otherwise respected wrestlers. Scott Hall won the TV Championship and did perhaps the most disrespectful thing possible. At this time, WCW had quite a few mid-card titles, with them all losing meaning.

Hall however took it to a new low when he dumped the belt into the trash since he was done with it. Hacksaw Jim Duggan was booked into a janitor gimmick and found the title when cleaning, to become the next champion. Only the end of WCW could present such an embarrassing scenario for a title.

5 Scott Steiner Kicking Him Out Of NWO Hollywood

nWo Hollywood

Scott Hall shocked the WCW fan base when he sided with Hulk Hogan and nWo Hollywood over his best friend Kevin Nash and the Wolfpac. The move was done to create a rivalry between Hall and Nash, while adding more star power to Hollywood.

WCW would see Hall falling lower down in the rankings and surpassed by Scott Steiner. The absence of Hogan saw Steiner kicking Hall out of the nWo Hollywood faction. It would be one thing if Hogan kicked him out, but this showed just how far Hall had fallen.

4 Getting Suspended Before A WrestleMania Match

Razor Ramon

The end of Scott Hall's first WWE run as Razor Ramon saw him and Kevin Nash leaving for bigger contracts in WCW. Razor did not get the chance to have a big farewell program like Diesel did, against The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

WWE was planning to have Ramon as the opponent for Goldust in the Hollywood Backlot Brawl at WrestleMania XII, as WWE's unofficial first cinematic match. However, a suspension for drug use would see Hall forced to miss the biggest show of the year. It was unfortunately a sign of more trouble to come.

3 No-Showing A TNA Main Event

Samoa Joe

TNA gave a few chances to Scott Hall after his friend Kevin Nash fit into the company and vouched for him. Hall was set to team with Nash and Samoa Joe in a PPV main event against the trio of Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Tyson Tomko.

The no-showing of Hall saw Joe cutting a shoot promo completely burying him and other veterans for not respecting the TNA locker room. Nash was livid at Joe for blasting his friend, but Hall was the one at fault for wasting one of his bigger final opportunities.

2 Steve Austin Testing His Sobriety

Steve Austin and Scott Hall

The feud between Steve Austin and Scott Hall was Hall’s last major chance to have another successful stint in WWE. Austin didn’t want to work with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8, which gave Hall the chance to wrestle an icon on the biggest stage.

Hall and Austin lacked chemistry with a storyline that ruined any shot at success. WWE went down the low road by using Hall’s real-life battles with alcoholism as part of the angle. Austin tried to tempt Hall with beer in a moment that embarrassed everyone involved.

1 Drunk Gimmick In WCW

Scott Hall

WWE wasn’t the only promotion to use Scott Hall’s alcoholism in a tacky manner. WCW started to grow frustrated with Hall’s lack of reliability due to his personal demons. Unfortunately, they decided to make it part of his character.

Hall would often hold beverages walking to the ring in 1998 and appeared to be under the influence in a few matches. Kevin Nash tried to clean up his best friend’s life, but it just made Hall look terrible, since this was a real struggle that harmed his career at the time.
