Seth Rollins Trying To Coax The Rock Into WrestleMania Match

Seth Rollins continues to try and goad The Rock into returning for a marquee match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next year.

A few weeks ago Seth Rollins got the WWE Universe talking when he responded to a fan on Twitter, suggesting that a dream match between himself and The Rock could be in the pipeline for WrestleMania 34. With "The Showcase Of The Immortals" still over eight months away, and no further mention of the prospective bout, talk of the match died down. Rollins re-ignited the fire last week however during a radio interview.

The Architect was asked about a number of things during the interview such as his recent feud with Bray Wyatt and his complicated relationship with Dean Ambrose. The takeaway topic from the back and forth, however, was the talk of his potential WrestleMania showdown with The Rock. Rollins commented on The Great One's busy schedule but said: "if the opportunity came about I'd have no problem taking on The Rock at WrestleMania".

The interview took place on Eagle 977, a sister station of Delaware 105.9, prior to Rollins' live show appearance in Salisbury. As well as revealing how much he would like to face The Rock at WrestleMania, Rollins also added some fuel to the fire in an attempt to get Rocky's attention saying "The Rock's past his prime, he's had his days, he's an old man at this point in time" before adding "I'm young, youthful, and vibrant. I'm ready to go."

The rumors surrounding a Rock and Rollins showdown began at the beginning of July when a fan posted a picture of a dream match of his between the two. The Architect promptly retweeted the photo with the caption "I mean Mania is only like eight months away." Rollins isn't the first wrestler to try and get business done this way. AJ Styles did the same thing with Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, although neither match ended up coming to fruition for The Phenomenal One.

WrestleMania 34 is eight months away and there are an awful lot of angles to shoot and hoops to jump through before The Rock versus Seth Rollins is officially on the cards. As Rollins quite rightly pointed out, The People's Champ is an incredibly busy man and hasn't competed at "The Show of Shows" in a significant match since WrestleMania 29. All of that being said, it would be a pretty incredible match with a great build if it were to happen.
