This week's edition of Monday Night Raw saw just about everything. This included a 'woken' Matt Hardy, Jason Jordan nearly defeating Roman Reigns for the title, Paige winning her first match in 18 months, and The Bar barely squeaking past The Shield to defend their Raw Tag Team Championships.
But there was also a big name backstage, though he didn't appear on television. According to PWInsider.com, SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon was there for Raw's taping - though the reasons why were unclear.
It's worth noting that last night's show took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and McMahon is in San Diego to film the Tribute to the Troops for today's live SmackDown show. Perhaps his appearance was just casual, and had no implications on a future storyline/feud.
This may be a storyline close to follow, however. Recent rumors suggest that WrestleMania 34 will feature a storyline of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H feuding with Shane O'Mac and Kurt Angle. With the show less than four months away, WWE may be building up towards a McMahon family feud.
Prior to the Survivor Series pay-per-view, both brands invaded the other's show - which started when Shane led a SmackDown 'siege' of Raw.
The commissioner of SmackDown has engaged in a feud with both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, ever since the latter helped K.O. defeat McMahon at the Hell in a Cell PPV. But if the latest reports are an indication of anything, this rivalry will end soon as Shane O'Mac begins to compete with his own sister and brother-in-law.
We may not know for a while if Shane's appearance at Raw is a sign that he'll begin feuding with anyone from that brand any time soon. More likely than not, he was just making a casual appearance before tonight's show. Perhaps we'll find out if it his presence will mean anything in storyline soon enough.
