The WWE Universe hasn't heard from Shane McMahon much ever since he lost a "You're Fired" ladder match to Kevin Owens on the Oct. 4 episode of SmackDown Live.

McMahon was thus removed from power as the commissioner of SmackDown, and fans haven't seen him on WWE programming ever since. Not only that, but Shane O'Mac has also been fairly quiet on social media.

But on Sunday evening, McMahon took to Twitter and suggested that fans see John Cena's latest movie , Playing with Fire. The comedy hit the big screens in the United States on Friday.

McMahon even said that being able to see this movie was an advantage amid his unemployment status.

Playing with Fire also starts Keegan-Micheal Key, John Leguizamo and Brianna Hildebrand. So far, it hasn't received great reviews from critics It's made $15.3 million at the box office so far, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Cena has followed the footsteps of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Dave Bautista, going from WWE legend to a big-time movie star. The 16-time World Champion will also be staring in Fast & Furious 9 and The Suicide Squad, slated for releases in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

In regards to his wrestling future, the future Hall of Famer has already stated that he doesn't think he'll ever truly retire from the WWE, calling the company "family." So even though Cena will be doing far more acting than wrestling over the long run, WWE fans can take comfort in knowing that he's not going away any time soon.

For what it's worth, fellow WWE icon Randy Orton issued a WrestleMania challenge to Cena last week. Will the 16-time World Champion accept, or will we at least see him wrestle again in the near future? Hopefully we get an answer soon.

Cena Should Be Back Before Long

Cena hasn't wrestled since Jan. 14, but he did make appearances at WrestleMania 35 and the July 22 Raw Reunion show. It's been almost four months since we've seen Cena, however, so it hopefully won't be long until he shows up again.
