Shane McMahon is apparently penciled in for a match at WrestleMania 34 and what happened on SmackDown Live will have only added fuel to those rumors.
The rivalry between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon is one of the longest-running feuds in WWE right now, and there is still no end in sight. From McMahon refereeing KO's match at SummerSlam, to their epic encounter inside—and on top of—Hell In A Cell, to the latest developments this past Tuesday night on SmackDown Live.
A fair few supporting characters have been brought in to the fold over the course of the two of them clashing heads. Vince McMahon himself suffered a beatdown at the hands of Owens and, of course, Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan are very much involved. For the past two weeks AJ Styles has also become reluctantly embroiled in the feud and now the WWE Champion is being forced to defend his title against both Owens and Zayn at the Royal Rumble.
Where is this all going though? There has to be an endpoint. Well, according to Wrestle Votes it will likely all come to a head at WrestleMania 34. The pro wrestling Twitter account reported that McMahon is once again penciled in for a high profile match. That's as much as they know so far but it's hard to imagine that the bout won't revolve around what's currently going with all the men listed above.
Shane McMahon is penciled in for another high profile WrestleMania match. Question is, in what form will he take on Owens & Zayn. This storyline started in July. Finishes at Mania. If it's a tag... it very well might be... & Bryan's not cleared, who should Shane's partner be?— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) December 30, 2017
The SmackDown Live commissioner has been involved in high profile matches at WrestleMania ever since he returned in 2016. First up was The Undertaker and then last year he faced off against AJ Styles. One thing is for certain, if Daniel Bryan is involved in any sort of wrestling capacity then it will likely garner more attention than any other match on the card.
Many fans are likely a little fed up with members of the McMahon family hogging the spotlight, especially at an event as big as WrestleMania. Shane McMahon may be the exception to that rule, however. WWE was criticized for including him in big Mania matches for the past two years, but both instances proved to be big hits. If McMahon is to be included in a marquee match for the third WrestleMania in a row, then at this point you have to think that it will be one of the highlights of the night.
