Wrestling great Shawn Michaels posted a video on Twitter with himself and Johnny Gargano showing off their abs during an "ab off" in Houston, Texas on Saturday while WWE held their NXT TakeOver: WarGames event in the same city.
Michaels asked everyone to vote on who has the better-looking abs by replying to them on Twitter.
Michaels has been spending much of his time helping out the NXT wrestlers during their recent tour of the United States. In particular, he's been working with Gargano.
Michaels also helped out at an NXT show on Friday night by serving as a guest referee for a house show in San Antonio match between Drew McIntyre and Adam Cole, where McIntyre came away with the win while defending the NXT Championship.
Once Cole was finished off, his Undisputed Era teammates Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish came into the ring and The Heartbreak Kid delivered a Sweet Chin Music to O'Reilly.
Of course, the fans went nuts and loved it as they chanted "you’ve still got it” and “one more match." But Michaels made it clear to the fans that he's done with wrestling as he said he “can assure you that I’m too old for this s***."
With Michaels living in San Antonio, he didn't have to travel very far for the match, so we're sure that was nice for him. In the past, Michaels served as a guest ref during a WWE WrestleMania 28 match between Triple H and The Undertaker and a Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton bout.
The last time Michaels was on TV was back in March when he made an appearance on Raw. At the time he gave Roman Reigns some advice about facing off against The Undertaker.
While we're sure Michaels would love to wrestle again fulltime, he obviously knows his time has passed. But working with the NXT brand gives him a way to stay in the sport while also helping up and coming stars. As much as wrestling fans would love to see Michaels back in the ring as a competitor, we don't know what kind of ailments he's dealing with post-career.
